Have you ever tried the new stuff with a Z4M? Seems INPA/DIS is the best we can get diagnosis wise, well as regular joe public anyway........

We use GT1 with OPS/OPPS for programming ...

The Z4M is a little unusual in that it uses an old platform (E46) but on a newer model..

Nobody knows how to fix their own cars these days. I had a 3 yr old Citroen diesel C3, just out of warranty that I owned from new. It started to run rough, it spent over 3 months, yes 3 MONTHS at the Citroen dealership while they were trying to fix it. New ECU, new injectors, new this, new that. Nothing seemed to cure the problem. Citroen HQ didn't have the answer and then I got another call from the dealership saying 'would you like to choose another car?' 'Ummm...No!', 'So your'e telling me that Citroen has made a car that only lasts 3 years, then it has to be scrapped?'

Eventually I got the motoring press involved, GEM, they were great. Citroen covered all costs, courtesy car, parts labour etc, etc. despite being just out of warranty. Guess what the problem turned out to be? A vacuum pipe at the back of the engine FFS! We need mechanics not grease monkeys.

Shitroen are one of the worst for that very issue..

They only support the parts network for 5 years...so if you have a ECU,ABS controller or BSI unut fail, and a second hand unit cannot be fitted due to security protocol then your car is essentially scrap after 5 years..

Just the way the motor industry wants it....

:o :o :o

This will ease the pain for a couple of days...

Very nice little runaround there Stuart - with a nice reg on it too - I take it you'll be giving us a running report?

There are a few of us that can give the 911 a good thumbs up :D  big upgrade IMO

The m3 looks nice too best colour I think! Especially with the added carbon bits you can get for them :driving:

It has all the carbon bits, they really look good on it in that colour. It's only done 600 miles so still running in and you can tell the engine is tight, but the noise is epic.

My growing issue is I've missed peak selling time for a convertible zed, so it looks like I'll be hanging onto it until spring. Unless we have a late summer, and assuming it actually gets fixed

Lovely, be interesting to see what you think of it. I was a little disappointed with it when I had a go but its still probably the best of the current crop of this category.

Well I don't know prices are still very steady, best selling asap and hanging on 2-3 months for a 911 come oct nov. Prices should level and a bargain could probably be had. Seems madness atm, all naturally aspirated manual cars are in such huge demand.

On auto trader the there are only 2 dealer E46 M3 coupes with a manual with less than 55k, one is a 54 plate with 53k which is quite nice at £15,490, the other is a 51 plate with 30k and they want £16k for it!! The rest are verts.

Were trying to sell the 997.1 has everything and is immaculate has 27k on a 57 plate turbo wheels and full spec with extended leather, alcantara headlining, nav, tele, bluetooth, heated seats etc etc huge service history with all issues sorted and just recently £2.5k spent on it with service, pipes, new oil pump, exhaust brackets. Haven't been offered more than £29.5k for it. Thats a bargain and the reason it hasn't gone, far too good to go at that price, dealers are after £36-38k for similar cars and you need another £30-40k for a top spec low milage 997.2 GTS. After the eurotrip its had a new lease of life after realising what a truly wonderful car it is… trying to convince him to keep it so I can buy it  not that I can afford it lol!

I've looked at a 997.2 with 12k miles for £49k at an OPC with 2yrs warranty. All the options except the sports exhaust. They had a couple at similar pricing.

I'll make a post on the M3 later this week when I've had a chance to play with it

Problem is, you really, really need the Sports exhaust... Which means another £2k+ to retrofit it. But the noise

Have to have the sports exhaust - it's not 2k plus it is about 1.8 to 1.9k , for me it should have the sports shifter steering wheel fitted if it's PDK ,

I'd also consider a good highly specced 981 S

Bit picky about pricing precision in the P world are they ? Or perhaps defensive is a better word...

I was going by Jack saying it was £2k and assuming a 911 would cost more... I stand corrected :P

My C4S had a PPE fitted and it sounded dirty.......

Any 911 needs one on,whether its £1900 or £2000......Dont buy without it...
