Rant

I actually had it done while my indie was doing something else for me and they didn't charge me for it specifically. Which was pretty ace. As for 27 updates, that was just the terminology they used with me, I have no clue about the detail :D

Well I'm pleased to report that so far it's running sweetly and the smile is back on my face. Had a nice little roof down hoon this morning.

No, a 997 is definitely going to be the next car, but maybe not yet. I'd got my heart set on a gen 2 with PDK and I have first refusal on a friend's that he'll be changing next year. My other friend's 997.1 was (and is) pressing the shiny button but there's a nagging voice inside me that says "wait" and I tend to listen to my intuition.

The M3 was amazing as a car, phenomenal performance and the most "connected" car I've driven as far as technology goes. Seriously impressive. The one thing you don't do is connect with it as a driver though as you do in the zed. I've got a chance to try an M4 as well which I'll do and see if it feels any different. Dick Lovett have told me they'll "look after me" if I go down that route after all the recent experiences. That probably doesn't mean much but it's the thought that counts:)

Great news. glad to hear IMMie is back on the road :driving:

I am sure you can struggle for another year in the M quite nicely, and then the 997.2 is indeed the car I would go for as opposed to the 997.1.

I budgeted mid 40s to 50k for a low mileage C2S with an OPC warranty. Another friend picked up a gen 2 non S with middling mileage for low 30s. I'll be able to get my friends S for c40k as and when he sells as it will be a bit leggy. Done late 40k miles now on a 10 plate.
