Standard on a 50th

Yeah, but so are carpet slippers and a pipe :poke:

...and don't forget the standard fitment of antimacassars on the headrests - although having the P-crest on them in a mixture of needlepoint and cross stitch is a £211 9s 6d option....

the 991 50th also comes with a free second mortgage on your house :D

Mind you.. I'll probably be fighting with Bing to buy it off you when you're done with it in a year or two.

No P-crest on mine, hand stitched 911-50 instead :P

Still, at least the antimacassars stop your brylcreem making the leather all shiny :P

Sadly it's a keeper for PVR - his son has it written into his inheritance :D

...not that I would ever be able to afford it, as it will only go up in value likely as not.

Well, that's a working month. They've had it four weeks. They called yesterday to say the new DME was in and fitter and they were waiting on BMW to remotely code it. No call today after a couple of weeks of daily updates so I have a horrible feeling that the 3rd unit has been fritzed.

Just think, when they can fix this mess and start the car, they can actually start work on the faults I took it in for. Ho hum, Monday is the start of week 5...

I'm trying to remember what it feels like to drive...

Crikey Stu, you must have the patience of a Saint!!

Hope they get your car sorted soon

Ps it'll sell much quicker with a pristine set of CSL's and PSS

Heaven is a 911! :driving:

You really think that?

So all the main dealer techs and BMW themselves can't seem to fix it....?

Do you know think they aren't really telling you truth ?

Bloody hell, what a farce

If they've done it a third time then I dread to think where it goes from here. I really hope they've got something positive for you when you speak to them (sternly!)

What reason do they have to lie? It's under warranty and I'm not paying for it. It's well over the amount where BMW has to authorise any repairs so it's not like the dealer is milking it for additional revenue.

I've seen similar situations before where component A blows component B, you replace component B and component A blows it again. You then replace component A and the blown component B blows component A. Until you pin it down and replace both components together you'll stay trapped in a vicious circle.

This is supposedly a coding issue, goodness knows what made their system think it was a diesel. I have neither the logic diagrams or tools to look at it myself. Talking to their master technician working on it, he'd done everything that I'd have done to try and track the fault down.

I'll probably talk to the dealer principle again this week and start making noises about them buying it and or finding me a permanent replacement. Perhaps give them another 2 weeks.
