DC must be the smuggest man around turned it down to drive his classic mer with Prince Albert of Monaco around the principality rather than getting towed to Blackpool in a Reliant.
Just watched this to see what the fuss was about.
I hated Clarkson and didnt watch the old Top Gear.
This version seemed ok to me and I didnt think the ginger twat shouted THAT much.
Liked the fast lap having an off road section.
Although LeBlanc does an alright job he just seems out of place being American on a UK program.
Biggest complaint with this and what I seen of the old version is that they dont really tell you much about the cars and most of the cars they have on the program are way out of normal peoples reach. I mean do people really need to know that there is a ton of downforce on a Vipers rear wing? How about what the MPG is? Or what sort of problems might you come across owning one?
Maybe I am wanting the wrong things out of a car program.

I'm old enough to remember the first Top Gear progs with Raymond Baxter / Chris Goffey etc - they were all about mpg and servicing costs - they road tested Morris Marinas and all that junk - enough to send a glass eye to sleep. That's the reason why the program morphed into a magazine looking at cars beyond most people reach rather than a road test of stuff we can all go and try at the local dealership.
Totally agree with Ronk, I too remember the original Top Gear, although I'm 'only' 49 :roll: , and with the cars built now and the pace and variety of programmes and digital media etc, a programme like it was would'nt stand a chance.
Having said that I watched, sorry, wound FFWD the 'new' Top Gear last night, tired done to death bore fest, at least the 3 buffoons had humour and gelled, the new show seemed to try way to hard and was nothing new, it's a shame to slate a new effort and maybe it'll get better but on the first outing it's time to bury this and try something else.

By the seaside...
Started watching it with low expectations - actually found it OK, especially that noise from the viper.... I'll watch it again, hopefully it gets a bit slicker, but Evans has always presented in that edgy-close-to-mayhem-shouty style that (to me) has always looked slightly amateurish, so I'm not holding out much hope. At least it will have decent cars and Fraulein Schmidt.
