At least it will have decent cars and Fraulein Schmidt.

Oooh ja !
Better than that Vicky Butler whats her face on 5th gear! :D

But maybe not quite as good as Jodie Kidd on the Classic Car show (just thought it was time to lower the tone properly)! :D

loved the cars just didn't enjoy the show tbh.... sadly not one ill be sticking too... id rather use that slot to play my xbox .  chris is just so cringey and seemly over trying to the point where he comes across fake as hell, and i matt leblanc is just a weak presenter but better than chris, when they arrived at blackpool which had been dubbed leblancpool i was nearly sick, cringeworthingly poor stuff...

What I missed was some car news.
I mean top gear used to be a show on new cars. Even with clarkson&gang they had a segment called 'news', but thats what got ditched in the new formula where everything else was copied.
So no news about the new guilia etc etc on a car show?
I already wasnt very fond on the old top gear as I got bored in I think 2005 by seeing the same jokes and stunts over and over again, but at least that team had some magic and coherence, as if they were proper friends just goofing around (and that was its charm I think).
The new top gear is just a nice example of trying too hard... on a concept that was pretty much about presenters not trying.

the 'news' was on the online version 'ExtraGear'... doesnt help if you can't access iPlayer though :(
... which the BBC are planning on charging extra for soon.... :x

i thought you just had to be able to prove you had tv licence for iplayer content

I think I am fortunate that I recorded it and watched it on Monday. Lets just say the fast forward button was used a lot and I won't be bothering recording next weeks espisode.

that's what I thought too...

ie closing the loophole that people can watch catchup on iPlayer without a TV license. not charging extra specifically for iPlayer access - damn hope this is the case.... mrs gannet seems to live on iPlayer...

My own interpretation was that there would be a registration process around using iPlayer - initially that would link to a licensed household and be limited to a number of devices. Much like Sky does with its mobile support (through SkyGo) I expect the rules to change though so streaming will be OK but downloads will cost extra. I might be wrong, but as the BBC are looking for alternative ways of funding, iPlayer just comes across as a ripe target.

Well, episode 2 is on in less than an hour - don't know if I can be arsed to watch it live, seems like it'll be a better idea to watch it later so I can FF through the dross

I'll certainly record, enjoy the sunny evening, then watch later when I can have a finger on the FF button ready.

A sound plan

Evans has already said he will be 'even more shouty' so those who don't like that.......be warned but it does start with a McLaren F1 long tail and the new 675 LT

Just not on the RADAR to watch TG. Enjoying Penelope Keith on Channel 4 and looking forward to the TT highlights later.

So I watched it.........MUCH improved on last weeks episode. The SUV tests in SA was actually pretty good. Eddie Jordan was trying his best to wreck the Merc but the F Pace looked a decent bit of kit

Just watched it and actually really enjoyed this week! Maybe it was the other 3 + EJ they had on the show but if they can deliver like that consistently I'll be watching

15mins of CE tedium drove me to flick & found "Escape to The Chateau" on Ch4+1 , must have been more interesting as i didn't flick back :( looks like my TG days are over
To coin a Dragon's Den phrase , "i'M OUT "
