MR12Volt setup for best audio

After reading B21's excellent item here https://z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=2103643#p2103643 it madde me think.

I know this is all subjective and everyone has a different idea of great sound but it would be good to have a starting point. I am not a music guru but i would like to get the most out of the S677 and the Mr12Volt MMI box.

I would be interested to hear how people have set theirs up for optimal performance.

OK, well no responses :?
Alas I have the original box, so no built-in graphic equalizer on mine, BUT....

As the 677 system has it's own graphic equalizer in the headunit, and the new Mr12volt boxes also have this function (with pre-sets) you have a lot to go at. It will be very dependent on the type of music you're listening to, whether you have the roof open, windows open, A/C on full blast, tyre type fitted etc and, as you say, it is very much as to how you want to listen to it and how you can listen to it (condition of your hearing). For anyone to say "oh yeah I have mine set up like this...." probably wont work for you.
Personally I'd start with your headunit G/E, adjust that as to how you like it normally (Radio, CD, USB, AUX etc) and then go into the Mr12volt settings and try the pre-sets first to see how you get on

Thanks Dave

I was hoping for more responses to be honest but maybe there are not so many people with the MMI box.

Will give that a go

As AnnubisZed pointed out it’s very subjective and dependent on the factors he mentioned…

I replaced my 677 system as documented ..with that new system I leave all the MMI setting flat..

In theory the same settings should apply to the same music played through the USB/cd player as via the MMI box..so FWIW I’d concentrate on the 677 controls accessible in the idrive..
