ZM custom backboxes + tips BCS Powervalve Now Fitted

ye lol insurance will you any excuse to not pay out, i have advised them i occasionally pick my nose whilst driving lol

When i told my insurance company of my wheel, suspension and exhaust mods....It loaded my premium massively !

£23....... 10%....

I'm actual terrified of telling mine when I come around to getting stuff done, eSure, it's probably all in my head but I've got visions of 99.9% of their customer base being elderly and them not understanding what they're being told... you improved performance? Err, we don't support that...?! :x

I'm sure it's not like that though!

If they're anything like LV=, they'll change their mind every year.

I went from having a modified policy including trackdays one year, to being almost uninsured the next year due to a LV= cockup.

I got my renewal through and as the price was roughly the same as the previous year I went ahead with it, assuming it was an identical policy.

A few months later I was about to do my first track day of the year (renewal in Dec, track day in Feb), so called them up to inform them of the track day as per the policy Ts&Cs and they said they don't cover track days & modified cars, and never had. I offered to send her a copy of my old policy documents but she was insistent that I must have been insured by someone else and wouldn't even bother going to check as I was obviously in the wrong. Don't know what would have happened if I'd been in an accident :headbang:

Ended up paying an extra £70/day through CCI for track day cover - and LV= said they'd graciously cover my car with the declared mods this year, but I'd have to find somewhere else come renewal and they wouldn't pay for replacement of the mods (which was about £10k of a £15k car).

Following year I got another renewal quote from LV= and phoned them up so they didn't automatically take payment. Spoke to a very helpful operator who assured me that my modifications were covered in the renewal premium, but couldn't tell me where I could find that info on my renewal letter/policy documents. Their response was that they'd make a note on their system. Some good that would be, as I can see it being 'lost' come clam time.

In the end I switched to Bell (or one of that group) as no-one would cover track days & business miles (CCI would do a road & track policy, but not business use) - and simply paid extra for the track day cover on a day-by-day basis. Each year I simply search around for the best (not cheapest) deal - comparison sites are a bit useless for slightly modified cars (if you're 100% truthful).

Sounds very intriguing! I've been thinking about a change to something a little more civilised for a while now...any effects on engine performance?

So just dropped the car off at BCS , asked them about performance gain or loss ,
In their words "you can expect a little extra BHP but nothing crazy , generally expect around +5 fom their freeflow back boxes & especially so from the size of the standard exhaust pipes & cats up to the new boxes "
A long wait now till i go back next Saturday but they may post a vid online this Thur/Fri

As long as it doesn't lose any HP or torque i'd be happy!

Andy when you go to pick your car up could you ask if they would build a system for a 3.0 to give this type of look.68.jpg
Do they cut bumpers an such , and would it loose power. Although you may just want to get out in yours bring the noise
