Still on schedule for install later this month Andy?

Leaving the car this Saturday Dan , should be done by Wed/Thu next week but it may get to weekend before i can get back for it
Hope i'm not disappointed after waiting so long :?

Curious to see how this pans out. If it's anything like the sound of the M135i I'll stop what I'm doing and throw my money at them, but then I heard a e46 M3 video and wasn't a fan at all... although this is likely a totally different system, it's still BCS, who knows yet. Excited to hear the finished result, and a bit nervous as I really need to stop hemorrhaging money :?

Haha yea, kinda testament to how mundane or subjectively understated the e46 M3 is if mistaking it for a 320Ci is a genuine possibility! You could stick a 320d badge on the back of the latest M3 and a blind man on a galloping horse could see it was a M3!

But that tone though... :| That raspy duck quacking when the revs drop, instant no thank you for me personally.

For whatever reason the E46 M3 seems very hard to get right when it comes to exhausts. When I was looking at buying one I trawled through loads of videos of different set-ups and combinations and not one that I found really sounded right. None of them can seem to get rid of that slight fart can tone it has

Given it also has the S54 engine, isn't that then going to translate into the same problems for the Z4M? I've no idea about this kind of stuff so my basic monkey logic can probably be over ruled by someone with an ounce of knowledge on this kinda thing!

E46 has much more rasp than a Z4M, so it definitely won't sound the same. Not sure why the extra rasp, possibly as its a longer system?

I'll leave that for the spanner heads to speculate or confirm!
It's that quacky fart rasp that kills it for me, I've heard some Z4Ms have that with other systems during gear change, I'd be embarrassed to drive the car with that. Just make it gargle pop and roar like the M135i powervalve exhaust and I'm sold!

I'll speculate, m3 backbox is a single large box with the 4 outlet pipes
Z4m 2 separate boxes :o
Just speculation

Sounds very intriguing! I've been thinking about a change to something a little more civilised for a while now...any effects on engine performance?

So just dropped the car off at BCS , asked them about performance gain or loss ,
In their words "you can expect a little extra BHP but nothing crazy , generally expect around +5 fom their freeflow back boxes & especially so from the size of the standard exhaust pipes & cats up to the new boxes "
A long wait now till i go back next Saturday but they may post a vid online this Thur/Fri

will you be informing the insurance and are you expecting any difference in the premium

I wasn't aware you had to inform the insurance if you had a new exhaust fitted 8)

er

if they consider it as a enhancement in performance they would probably want to know
