ZM custom backboxes + tips BCS Powervalve Now Fitted

No problem. Looking forward to receiving them now.
I will also be doing a track day soon so will get them noise tested for general info.

Nice move Dan  be good to get another owners input on them but id have no hesitation buying the same in the future , Sport or Prestige

Hello Chaps - Quick resurrection of this thread....A Z4MC owner here looking to get more noise from car. Its my weekend only garage queen and used for fun only.

I am seriously considering these after reviewing the Eisenmann Race (fit looks weird), RPi (too drony loud) and Stromung (love these but expensive now with import).

These look like a great fit but now I am confused whether to go for Sport or Prestige? Also are these easy to fit a DIY job? any other gaskets/paste etc I need to consider to fit them?

Finally I have been considering an Eventuri but once these are fitted would the intake be a waste.....also interested to see what consensus is between which of intake or exhaust should be done first?

Cheers,
Stu

You would not be disappointed with either the Sport or Prestige boxes , they were both excellent :) The Sport being a bit lively for me on cold start when you want to creep off the drive early without waking the family + neighbours
As for the debate RE induction , exhaust or both ? Purely my own thoughts but if you go exhaust first then forget the induction
Induction first can be enjoyed then if you still want more theatre then add the exhaust
With any of the after market exhaust boxes I doubt you can really hear any induction enough to warrant the spend unless for the extra "performance"

I first fitted the Eventuri on my Z4MC. It was great and I loved hearing it when pushing on above 3k revs, but I wouldn't say it was very loud, more audible and nice but not loud. As nice as it was, I was still feeling the stock exhaust note was soo weak. So I went for Stromung's. My immediate thinking was the exhaust note is lowered quite a lot, which I didn't like. Also when pushing on the roar from the Stromung is dominating over the intake, so I would say overall I hear the Stromung more, however the intake can be heard if you listen carefully, and with the window down even more.
After a good few months now I am fairly happy overall. The Stromung's do sound lovely from the outside, people's heads turn where ever I drive as when sport button is pressed it pops and bangs a lot. The sound when going through a tunnel is awesome. I would say the sound as a driver in the car with the windows up isn't perfect (there is a drone at 2k revs). I normally pop the windows a bit to get the best exprience, which will be cold in mid winter lol.

Hope that helps a bit with the general impressions.

I have an aFe intake and Remus back boxes. Neither is offensively loud at idle but both roar under load, especially at high rpm. There's no drone from the exhaust but there are plenty of pops and bangs on the over run. The combination sounds amazing and they complement one another rather than one dominating. Just another combination worth considering...

Hi Chaps, I took Mr Wilkes advice and my powervalve BCS sport boxes arrive tomorrow. Will have them fitted next weekend along with my GruppeM intake and report back.

Dealing with the guys at BCS has been a pleasure and lead time was a couple of weeks from order to delivery.

Should sound epic! (They only do the Sport boxes now btw following further refinement)

You are in for a treat from both front & back :D be sure to post up some pics & thoughts

OK. Firstly wow! I had these and my Gruppe M fitted today. I firstly went for a test drive just with the mufflers and enjoyed the pops and slightly deeper/raspier tone under load. I can confirm no drone.

Once the Gruppe M was fitted the combination was electric. They kick in at very different rev ranges so really compliment each other. Would really recommend and will post pics/vids soon.

My only gripe is that the right can (being custom) sits slightly lower than the left but I am going to trying and rejig these.....bit OCD and most people wouldn't even notice.

This really is how the car should have sounded out of the factory! PROPER!

Glad you're suited with them mate , they really are a quality job & if you had gone there for fitting Dave would not have rested until they were mm perfect on the fit so keep tweaking until you get it right
Did you notice the weight difference from the stock ones :o Imo they not only sound like the M should have from factory but they also look totally OEM .
