Great new all ok Andy. Notice it has headlamp wash, lights look yellowish so are they still halogen?

Just followed the nav out of Newport :? did feel a long way round although first 35miles were Mway so chance to get familiar with the steering before the A roads 8)
Tbh it was more noticeable on the straight Mways than on normal roads
 
Lovely looking motor you've got yourself there Andy - Zeds always look good in black. Good to hear the 3.0si didn't disappoint on the drive home :thumbsup:

It is a peach of a engine & drives completely different to the S54 , certainly no disappointment but the missing 65/70bhp is noticeable in 3rd - 4th at 50-90mph
Off the line to 60 i doubt the amateurs among us would be separated

As always, an interesting choice - like others I thought you might be heading in the E89 direction.
The 3.0si can really fly when it's wound up and kept on the boil. I find the engine a little dull compared to the ///M but it's so smooth and capable enough on the road. You're right about the loss of 60+ bhp but I found the extra rpm at the top end is what makes the big difference but you need to be committed to use it. Roll on acceleration didn't merit the extra costs for me BUT the handling and especially the brakes were much better. In the end I've stayed with my 3.0si as it seems the best compromise on the road in terms of running costs so for your long Euro trips it makes complete sense as does the need to avoid adding high mileage. :thumbsup:

For sure there are major differences between the 3.2 & the 3.0Si, plus & minus both ways
Hard to ignore that after the 280mles drive home including a ragging on A roads for 150miles of it that i landed home showing 34mpg , similar ///M miles would most likely see 23mpg ?
The 3.0si engine & gearbox do have to be worked more but i can live with that
The steering & suspension nowhere near as accomplished to the point the ///M set up flatters the driver into thinking they are gifted
The brakes were possibly the most noticeable difference in the 2 , faultless on the ///M , decidedly average on the Si
Finally you have to throw the values & costs into the equation & whilst i appreciate the M is a appreciating classic the wanting to use it can throw a shadow over this which was a prompt for me to part company
The M VED is a kick in the nuts as can be the much higher service & part costs
Going forward there may well be another S54 in the garage , or E89 but for now i will enjoy the Si & look forward to getting it my way + getting some miles on it :driving:
