What have you done to your car today?

[ref]Dubbedown[/ref], that looks good! How did you mod them to look like that?

Stock DRL bulb is “permanently” affixed to its holder. So you just need to drill a single tiny hole so that it can be removed. It’ll be obvious where that hole is if you push the bulb down and twist to see where the nub gets caught. See pics.

The bulb type is BA9S. I found this to be the brightest option: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B078XPBMTZ?

First proper day off this year so put the Z back on the road. Charged it up and ordered a couple of rear boot vents from Lloyds to replace tomorrow as although the boot is dry I’d imagine the vent seals have disintegrated by now.
Did you get these done? I have read you can do it from inside the boot but struggling with the 1st one, near side

Yeah that’s how I do it as have done it on a previous Z4 too. It can be a bit fiddly. The first time I replaced a set I attached some string just incase I dropped them.

Installed a Wolfbox (About $120 US found on Amazon) mirror cam with back up cam feature. It was a bit of a bitch getting the wires all routed, but the new view backing up was well worth it. (It is tough to see out the back in a hard top!) Back up cam was mounted over the LP. I drilled through the bumper cover, and routed the cable under the metal bumper, up, and drilled through the battery box, to get in inside the car. the rest was a lot of tucking ( did I spell that right???). The GPS antennae was mounted fore, over the passenger side (right side on American's) close to the door and tucked under the headliner. This did require the head liner to be removed and a bit of taping and a few wire ties. The mirror attached right over the original. I'm still deciding where to put the power clip in the fuse box. So, I am currently powered via the Ciggy lighter, but the wires are all routed. I now have constant wide view out the back! The set up can be a bit hard to see with Shades on during the day. And, there is a bit of flare from bright lights creeping up from behind at night. So, perhaps there is a better set up out there. But It was a huge improvement over the existing mirror!

Well it was yesterday really!

I SORN'd it after reaching a milestone on Tuesday.

Seeing as it was 18 last year that still seems pretty low mileage to me, but probably not to UK car buyers.

I'll tax it in March before the price goes up again!

Sold it!

Well, that’s not actually true… but it may have gotten your attention. Spent a couple of days looking at potential ‘classic’ 80s and 90s VWs which then somehow morphed to a circa 2016 MX-5 (the pretty one that shares its underpinnings with a Fiat/Abarth 124).

It’s ok, I’ve woke this morning to my senses. Z4 is safe in the garage. I’ve checked. I’ll go and take some more medicine…

Do you feel any difference after changing the rear? So far I've changed the front and I think if the rear also makes a difference?

I did a bunch of things to my Z4 over the past ~2 months. Let's just say things that I couldn't live with when I bought it last April.

That's pretty impressive work in 2 months, especially getting those 108 wheels apart.

Although with the wood trim I think I'd have kept the beige interior. Still it's your car so your choice!

Drove it today and it made a noticeable improvement. Be aware that the rears are a PITA compared to the fronts.

Impressive, I prefer the back Msport interior personally… have you also changed the roof?

Replacement Battery, short journeys and heated seats killed the one I had on it, was on it for 3 years since I bought the car so thought best to put a new one on.

Used my Halfords Trade Card and got £27 discount.

Installed new front ARB end links (Meyle HD).
i’m none the wiser… what are these? Why would you change them? What difference does it make or is this maintenance only? Thanks. (Technical knowledge extends to fuel in the hole in the side of car)

The Anti Roll Bar (ARB) hangs through two rubber bushes. The ends are then connected to the suspension via links. In the UK these are more commonly referred to as 'droplinks'.
On the front these are about 6 inches long with a ball joint at either end. One end bolts to a hole in the end of the ARB, the other bolts to a bracket on the suspension damper housing. They need ball joints to allow for the wheels turning.
On the rear they are about 3 inches long and basically solid with a hole at each end. One end bolts to the lower suspension arm, the other end simply push fits over the end of the ARB allowing a litlle lateral movement.
When I say 'simply push fits' thefre is a degree of poetic licence. It is a real PITA to get these on, especially while lying under the car on a gravel drive!
The rears can break, but are generally pretty robust.
The fronts can generate an MOT failure if the rubber boots on the ball joints are split, allowing debris in to damage the joint.
