The OEM antena looks like a CB radio mast
So the stubby is definitely an improvement looks wise
I don't use my radio so not really bothered by the poor reception

For the coupe - yes, I take your point as my X5 does not have an aerial either, but then the coupe was an afterthought with some parts from the part bin![]()

I like that you keep an emergency aerial in your Car. BMW forgot to include that in the kit 8)
