The stubby looks great and works well in my "FM only" environment.
I bought the BMW part no 65202179726 and love it.
Poor reception on AM? I didn't realise there were still AM radio stations anywhere in the world - thought that went out the same time as black-and-white tv sets.

I have the same oem,BMW "SPORT" aeriel and it works just fine/tho a bit shaky in some areas ,i am happy enough with it :D

I looked at the same aerial wasn't sure it would fit, now I know it does happy days, get one on Monday.

Stubby for me not only does it look so much better it saves my eyesight from the lethal oem antenna and as for reception i never listen to the radio but i did have it on just after buying the Z and it worked fine with no antenna at all

i knew the stubby would win the day !

why dont you non-stubby lot get one of these if you love the 'mast' look on your cars. in fact i think this is a little more discreet. :poke:

I prefer them stubby... It's not the size that matters, it's the performance that counts... :tumbleweed:

In all seriousness though, the OEM aerial looks like a fishing rod or a dominatrix whip. There's just no need for it. BMW need to get with the times.
I don't listen to the radio anyway (too many people talking gibberish with crap songs inbetween) but when it has been on there's been no problem with reception at all. And the car looks much sleeker with it on.

What if you came with a stubby :( how can you make it bigger.Although Lucys comments on performance gave a lift :D . Funny the biggest topic on here is about size. Good job were all blessed in one way GOOD TASTE.
