I hardly ever listen to the radio, still opted to stick with the OEM aerial, I like it :P
Plus I'm too lazy to change it

OEM all the way for me.

This is one mod that has completely bypassed me. I just don't get it.

Sorry guys, I like the look of the original, especially the lovely twirly bits going up and down it

I wonder if loads of people have it because it is an easy mod therefore one that people do rather than they want to do it because it looks good.......

I'm no sheep following the all the others (bring on the Welsh jokes :D )

Stubby all the way, I guess to compensate for my huge engine :D

Question, does a stubby aerial effect the sat nav? or is that aerial separate and unaffected..... maybe a dumb ass question....

Satnav has GPS aerial inside the car (either near the mirror or behind the instrument panel depending on the manufacturing date).

x2.... I dont get it either :?

Stubby  .......,
reception? who cares?, why would I want to listen to some kn*b wittering b*ll*cks most of the time, intermittently interupted by playing tunes I wouldn't choose to hear.

I have an Alpine head unit where they omit the CD player, and direct link to iPod...... they should have got rid of the radio.

At least I know what will happen with all the analogue transmitters that are obsolete in the South then :poke:

Its funny as my old honda civic has the aerial built into the rear window which is something I thought was pretty cool. For a car thats supposed to be premium like the Z4 and nicely styled it does seem odd that they stick an aerial on it in a place that could be so easily improved. It looks almost like an after thought.

Bit difficult though as the roof goes down.

For the coupe - yes, I take your point as my X5 does not have an aerial either, but then the coupe was an afterthought with some parts from the part bin :poke:

If I wanted a car that looks like its got a vinyl roof Id buy a morris marina and save myself a load of cash! :P

However in all seriousness I did think about a soft top but imo they look ugly with the top up and thats how it would spend most of its time so I went for the coupe.

On the aerial topic though if it was a parts bin project which I dont dispute surely when they changed the rear wings they could have deleted the aerial without too much trouble as they had to have new wings designed and a new rear window anyway? Or is it down to the wiring loom?

Annoyingly my honda has been 100% reliable for 4 years yet 2 days before Im due to sell it the bloody battery packs up

fortunately all the nice looking parts were left over because they didn't use any on the roadster :fuelfire:

Do they have radio in Scotland? :poke:

There's always BBC World Service :poke:

Stubby all the way...I don't like the radio controlled car look :P

No problems with reception, even when listening to London local radio stations in the home counties. IIRC the FM antenna is in the rear bumper, and the whip simply acts as a back up when reception is poor.

not sure why anybody woudl want the massive antena on the back of the car, and although i dont listen to the radio much, the times i have done the reception has been perfect! .........

i personally think its one of the best mods, and by far the cheapest!

Me too, I like the twirly bits too!

The stubby looks far too aftermarket for my liking, even a bit chav, not to mention the worse reception. OEM every time for me.
