Thanks Nico ( NOT )

A shocking piece of driving, there was no need at all for him to tighten his turn the way he did. Something like that was bound to happen eventually though given the competition between the two...

It has however provided some brilliant TV post-race! BBC has been funny! Clumsy crap driving

Well, despite the knee-jerk reactions of Toto Wolfe and Niki Lauder (talking to the press after Lewis had had a chance to bend their ear, but before they had talked to Nico), the stewards of the race obviously didn't feel that any transgression had taken place.

To be precise, it was Lewis's car that was changing direction at the point of impact, so you could argue that it was Lewis who hit Nico.

At least you'll never hear Nico pleading to be retired from a race.

to be fair when lewis was asking to retire he was struggling with lost downforce which we didnt know at the time.he is a great racing driver who does seem to have a lot of bad luck. i dont think nico was way out of order just an error which only needs to be minute at those speeds, the misjudgement was trying to take lewis so early in the race in a situation that was clearly very detrimental to the team but moreso to lewis.

Ha ha this really did make me lol.

For anyone who hasn't seen the incident, or wishes to see it again

Totally Nico's fault, he was never going to make it round the outside of Lewis and his contact was plain clumsy. Lewis simply kept to the racing line. Vettel was further upsides on the previous lap, an had to abort to the escape road.

Bit rich of Lewis talking about bad result for the Team, team didn't come into it at the last race :)

Fair point, at the time it looked like Nico turned into Lewis but having looked at a replay you are of course correct... But Lewis was on the racing line and in front, Nico should have backed off. Pushing too hard too early - if it was Vettel in front you could understand him taking the risk, but not his team mate. Seems a bit out of character for Nico tbh, so an expensive mistake rather than a deliberate act... That motor home meeting would be an interesting place to be later though :D

"We just had a meeting about it and he basically said he did it on purpose," said Hamilton.
The 2008 world champion added: "He said he could have avoided it, but he didn't want to. He basically said, 'I did it to prove a point'."

My opinion as well after seeing the replay...
