I had 5 day driveaway insurance from BMW which gave me breathing space to get something permanent into place. Of course I left this to the last minute and so rang Chris Knott Ins on Saturday morning.

I obviously haven't had this car for a year, but (one of very few) benefit of being aged is that I have plenty of RWD experience (inc 2 Z3s) and this car has no NCB as it is an extra vehicle, so I'm not sure if I got a quote under the club scheme or not. However I had details of price from compare the meerkat and confused. Daryl got a quote which was above a number of others and he then came back with a final price within a few quid of the cheapest budget insurer.

Excellent service over the phone so I'm pleased with this.

I’ve used them twice now for this years insurance for my z4 and my wife’s Focus cc. Both times very easy to deal with and very good price, lower in both cases. I will be speaking to them when my transit insurance is due.

I tried them once and agree very pleasant to deal with but on that occasion they were more expensive than my renewal quote.

Expect this years renewal coming through in the next few weeks so will give them a target and see what happens.

When my renewal was due in June I got a slightly cheaper quote with a lower excess.

So I rang Chris Knott and they matched the premium and the excess so I remain a happy customer!

I take it you were already with Chris Knott ? If you were why didn`t they offer you a decent renewal price in the first place rather than just matching another quote ?
