Wouldn't a mapped 20i bring up to the same BHP level as 28i? in which you case you may as well go for the 30i since it has similar performance but you get that silky smooth 6 cylinder and that fantastic sound track!

Not sure why the 30i NA straight six will make a better noise than a 25i NA straight six?
The 20i is remapped to be around 30bhp more than the 30i..
Plus the 4 pot is lighter and sits entirely behind the front axle making a sweeter handling car..
Smoothness and balance wise the N20 engine is as smooth if not more so due to technical magic ie dual balance shafts
So the 30i has ‘ a better sound’ but nothing else over a re mapped 20i..
Having followed now for 3 years many many 6 pot Z4s I’m not convinced of the 6 pot sound issue..
Of course your opinions are as valid as mine..
