Wonder how they wriggled out of the ebay price! (or they bought it and are reselling it for a nice profit!) :o
It has iDrive :) but it also has cloth :(

New member alert.

I’m after a 20i with iDrive and parking sensors. 2014 or newer. Parking sensors. Automatic. Black or white leather interior. External is more flexible as long as it not the flat red. Would like to keep the mileage below 40k.

I believe a Z4 with the media pack and comfort pack is what I’m after.

Would prefer BMW Used car.

Any chance I could get a decent one for £15k ?

The forum has a classified section, keep an eye on it

I have the leatherette seats, base model for me. Like the Mrs. :P :D
This is my first car with leatherette and I gotta say I am pleased. They wear like iron and not as sticky in summer with less maintenance.

Not sure what you mean by leatherette? How about some pics to clarify? Cheers.

It's a vinyl embossed to look like leather. Excuse the mess.
Not seen any plastic ones in the UK... the only option was a cloth seat, leather or alcantara ones... I thought

Well, you live and learn. Do you have the option code for the seats, I've never seen that before? They look a lot like the leather ones in that photo.
Edit: Quick search shows that there is an option called 'Sensatec', the option code starts with KC instead of LU, and the option won't say LEDER (leather).
I've learned enough for today, think I'll go home now....

 I'll run it through the vin decoder here > https://www.mdecoder.com/
It does in fact come up > SENSATEC 1SCHWARZ (KCSW)
One day I tried to catch something sliding off the dash while turning through an intersection and inadvertently smacked an open water bottle in the US bottle holder sending a half bottle of water sailing into the passenger seat. I gasped in horror, glanced back up at traffic, and decided to grab my sack lunch out of the now flooded seat and continue on my way least I smack the car in traffic ahead of me.
I thought well thank God for fake leather :D By the way the take out sandwich and fries was okay too.

Values have dropped through the floor lately, bit worrying. I do a 'sell my car' valuation every month on AutoTrader and today it came out at £15440 :o . Only 3 months back it was £18870.

I know values dip after summer but last year it only dropped £1200 in the same period.

Be smug that you haven't a 911 991 turbo , there's a current thread running on 911uk where it seems these cars have dropped around £30k in just 12 months :o or be glad you didn't buy the latest 8 series 12 months ago at £80k which you can now pick up around £5ok
Interesting read on WhatCar regarding current new cars likely to lose the most in first 3 yrs sees the Bmw 420 convertible mixing with very bad company  in there with the Renaults ,Kias , Fiats & Peugeots that notoriously shed massive value :( they suggest at 3 yr £13500 will buy one ( £44500 new)
Probably good times to be a leaser right now

Sure but it seems very strange for depreciation to be accelerating beyond the 5 year mark! It should be slowing now surely.

991 Carreras are holding very well, they’re on my list!

Hhmmm now ive been watching the Porsche market for 12 months , namely the 997 , 981Cayman & 991 .
The 991 seems to have dropped pretty drastically the last 6 months though i think has bottomed out early £40s (eg https://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/porsche/911-carrera-991/porsche-911-991-carrera-2-pdk-2012/10139905)

propped up by the later 997 gen2 still seen at high £30s

Porsche 911s of all years have often followed a fall - level - rise repeat sequence over periods of 10-15 yrs so wouldn't surprise me if the 991 went upwards again from this point , there was a well specced black 1 owner 30k carrera 2 991 privately advertised on PH at £41500 the past few weeks , gone now no doubt bought for £40k , i can see that car in 12 months with another few thousand miles being seen good value at £45k ?
All speculation of course :) 981 Cayman next for me but i can see the 991 being a target car in the not too distant future

Really you're going to spend 50k on anything with some spec (S, PDK, SC, PSE, Sports wheel), or that isn't recession white. But still, 50 grand for an 8 year old 911 is MENTAL. That's barely 50% in 8 years, you can get 2014/2015 R8 for that cash. Plus another 2 grand on the warranty and probably another grand on remedial work. Serious cash for an old motor, doesn't stop me wanting one though!

In reality a 991 for me whilst desirable from many aspects would probably struggle to match my complete admiration for the 997 in a similar way that the E89 was a massive change over a E85 , better in many ways but going bigger lost some driver appeal .
Also factor in the seemingly massive jump for a 997.1 owner to 991 ( double the spend if not more ) & bridging the gap might never happen for me .

Crystal ball out now :D
Here's how i think the 911 market will go the next 3-5 yrs

The 992 is a stunner , a real masterpiece of Porsche design , outside & in it looks every bit a £100k car which fastforward 3-5 years will only hammer the 991 down hard as folks with their gen 1 & gen2 997s decide they want to go newer but the 991 just isn't good enough so they wait that bit longer & jump straight to 992
So looking further on like 7-10 yrs & the 997 will still hold values due to them being the last of the old 911 before cruiser class took over , the 992 will depreciate simply because folks don't have the £60k/£80k to spend on a 5-7 yr old car which in turn will see the 991 as a very good looking but possibly unloved & under desired 911 through no real fault of its own :( when the 991 drops to the £30k zone i may be tempted  until then i can see them bobbing up & down in values wedged between a rock & a hardplace :P

I heartily disagree :P. I think the 992 looks naff, it's lost the headlight bulges completely from the view ahead and the styling is a terrible mish-mash of retro and modern. Door handles are a liability, and it's not NA! The 991.1 will hold well being the final NA car, manuals exist and the steering got better after the first couple years. The interior is beautiful though I give you that.

992 not na no but 3.0 flat6 twin turbo so a junior edition 911 turbo :P i see that as almost like a free upgrade into Porsche turbo territory that was previously for the model range big hitters & big spenders
" looks naff " :o Id make space in my garage for one :P
