I really don't get that with a modern car :? its never going to be a classic so if you don't drive its pretty pointless having it

This ^^^^

It may not be Kingfishers intention but I made the same mistake with my new 35is, I kept it mint and low miles just for someone else to benefit. Big mistake. The Boxster will get used as much as possible. :driving:

All those cars of Titantims that went back barely used  utterly pointless ownership of benefit only to whoever bought them next
I had no idea that my comment about my Z4 being low mileage would cause such near hysteria! I'm not keeping it mint and low mileage on purpose hoping for more money when I sell it … I just don't use it very much. I have other nice cars to drive. It only had 4k on it when I bought it and now it's about 7k … I take it to Spain a couple of times a year and weekends along the French coast which is pleasant enough … other than that most of my driving is an hour each way to a nearby marina for which I use a Jaguar XF Sportbrake as we need the room. For shopping I've got a Citroen C1 and for very special occasions an E-Type … so I don't use the Z4 that much. So sorry I'm not obsessed with it! - (Actually I'm thinking of selling it and the E-Type and getting a DB11 so if anyone's interested … ?)

I’ve been looking to buy a e89 4 cylinder for a long time. The prices seem higher now than back in Jan when I started looking. When will summer prices disappear?

Generally prices for convertible go up before / during summer and then come down after summer. December can be a good time to buy cars, prices can be lower since not many are looking to buy around this time.

I am looking to get back in a Zed at some point so following this thread. Quite like the orange -

https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201908301686706?onesearchad=Used&onesearchad=Nearly%20New&onesearchad=New&postcode=se266hg&price-from=7500&sort=relevance&price-to=15000&colour=Orange&transmission=Manual&advertising-location=at_cars&radius=1500&model=Z4&make=BMW&page=1

Not a bad price, but would be looking at closer to £10k for that in this market.

I don't know why, but for some reason I thought Valencia Orange was a 35iS colour. Clearly not :)

As you point out the price is optimistic right now especially without the nav / screen option .
To compare this one is on less miles https://z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=41&t=117129
way better spec & comes from a forum home so should be a trouble free way back into the Z world

Clevedon seems a busy place at the moment, 59 plate silver one parked up the road from me, white 2lt in Tescos and a blue one passed with with private plates down the road

My 64 20iS is VO with the same orange stripe seats and orange trim panels.
Personally I like it.
I specifically searched for that combo.

Described as Msport but sneakily no front pics
I'm sure its somewhere on forum, ... is there a list of differences between an msport and a 'standard' z89? I see a lot of the 3.5 seem to be sDrive (non-M) ... maybe there's a reason?

The M Sport package cost an extra £4k and didn't get any of the goodies like nav /hi-fi amp/cruise etc..I suspect by the time people had paid for the 35i lump they had run out of cash..you see lots of poorly spec'd 35s..

From the 2014 brochure..

Give your Z sDrivei or Z sDrivei Roadster the competitive edge with the M Sport Package. An Aerodynamic kit, with specially shaped front and rear aprons, sharpens its ability to cut through wind. The -inch Star Spoke (Style M) light alloy wheels with mixed-size run-fl at tires show your sporting intentions; in the Z sDrivei, you can also specify -inch V Spoke (Style ) light alloy wheels. A leather-wrapped multi-function M sport or M steering wheel ensures a fi rm grip – as does the Adaptive M Suspension, which delivers impressively agile road handling. Inside, specially bolstered sport seats hold you tight in curves. And when you’re not admiring the drive, feast your eyes on exclusive interior touches, including Aluminum Carbon Shadow trim, Anthracite headliner, and M badged door-sill
fi nishers, footrest and gear shift lever

thanks - this was the one then ... Y28JRC

the fact that "engine covers and undertrays fitted obscuring some components" - is that done on purpose to prevent seeing some fault?

I think it's just a comment from the MOT tester. Most cars these days have undertrays and covers fitted by the manufacturers maybe for streamlining purpose, not sure. I guess the tester is just commenting that they can't see components due to the covers and they don't dismantle them for the purpose of the test. Almost all the cars that I looked at before I bought mine had this comment in the MOT test history.

Pretty decent price for this 3.0i 2012, not bad mileage if anyones looking.
