As the original OP of this Hill Assist topic I'm going to bow out on a final note. many see it as not a big deal, well everybodies circumstances are different, for me it's a major problem as I have explained before. I spoke with the dealer principal tonight and thanked him for putting this deal...

Why do you think I had to swap my original car, for this precise reason. If I was in your shoes I would be asking the dealer to give you a 20i for 24 hrs to try it out or you will consider cancelling.

The foot brake needs to be pressed to release the EPB, this safety feature is there to ensure a child sitting in the passenger seat cannot release the handbrake by simply pushing a button.

Hill assist is not like a heated steering wheel, would be nice to have but wouldn't pay for it. I ran my car for 2 months and in that time my wife drove it once, she hated the EPB , I did to but put up with it until we got the replacement. These cars attract a lot of attention, mostly good ! I'm sure driving through the centre of Glasgow on a sunny day is going to be very entertaining, I'll get called names I never knew before. :o

I live on a steep hill, trying to parallel park was a complete nightmare, an old fashion handbrake would have been ok. You have to keep the EHB on , get biting point at which point a warning comes up saying release EHB then you release it. The EHB is either on or off, no releasing it gradually...

Always good to have that, If would suggest that once you have your cars, book it in for not working and let the workshop investigate the issue. They wanted to keep my old car for a few day's until they discovered it was never fitted. A word of warning, the dealer principal made it quite clear...

Can't believe some people are still questioning whether the 20i has it or not. BMW have just given me a brand new 8sp auto because my manual did not have it, is that not enought proof :headbang:

When I picked the car up on Saturday the Sales Manager could not believe that the website still had not been changed. I'm also surprised that it has taken 3 weeks for this topic to pick up speed.

They are perfectly entitled to use their Disclaimer Clause, my dealer pushed for BMW to resolve the issue.

No hill assist on the auto and thankfully no start/stop either. It feels like a much more refined match, 8sp auto with the 20i. To be honest I wouldn't actually say that I complained, I just pointed out that the car should have it and they made me a few different offers. This was the best offer...

Picked up the new car today, Very happy with the new 8sp auto. will get some photo's up soon, it's far better than I thought it would be

I took a car that was showing in stock on the system, there wasn't many 20i auto's in the UK. Hopefully not delayed anyone's car
