Quick comparison of the OEM Z4M inner tie rod and the now installed E90 inner tie rod. There is about an inch and a half of difference each side. Which comes out about right as the hub is now 25mm further outwards than OEM.

Good to see it all coming together

Given you’re tracking it in some of the toughest conditions I hope all your cooling work is up to it :) I suppose you can always add a water/methanol setup ‘just to be safe!’

Thx Beanie, yeah I wanna keep that option in my back pocket, just in case I need it. I am sure it will become apparent rather quickly if it's required.

time to mod the rear for the wheels.

So thats given me an extra 2cm of suspension travel. Originally when the car is standing on the floor there is only 1.7cm or clearance with the rubber and the arch (thats static, not even at speed) Have to seam weld it back together tomorrow.. then the other side... and this will give me the opportunity to run real slicks with a proper side wall when these run ins are done for. Not sure if its evident in the picture, but ive just continued the radius of the arc all the way around. not really sure why they didnt do that as OEM?.. anyways, bit of a mess now, but i think it will clean up really nice.

Added another bit. Thx Beanie. ;) Snow Performance 210 Stage 2 Boost Cooler Water Methanol Injection Kit. Not for extra HP, but to up the Octane rating of our crappy fuel over here.

spent most of my day off today refitting the oil coolers properly, as Initial placement had it rubbing the heat exchanger. Had to remove it any ways as it had a leak. (Go figure, brand new)

And then things started looking up, my uprights arrived.. sadly though upon closer inspection, they need to go back and fixed, as they are slightly off.

finalized the uprights

Can't quite tell what those are, mind giving more info? They look like trailing arms, but can't see how those are uprights.

Edit: Just realised you're not on about suspension anymore. Sorry.

Finally got around to getting my wheels painted... fucking 12 attempts at getting the color right..

Fiat 750 marron Volcanio with 15 percent of A32 bmw.

Sweet as!

Got back late yesterday afternoon, and after a quick SS, headed off to the car shop. Got there at 10pm.. crazy ramadan hours.. open from 8pm till 3am.. wtf.. anyways...

Pressurized the brake system... it works!!!!! :D

Also did some logging for new tune.. but yeah the brake system works!!!! That was a huge unknown....

Just thought id say it again, Brake system works... obviously not sure as intended yet , but brake pedal holds pressure and exerts (a lot) force on the rotor... not sure if its enough.. street test will define if were cracking a beer over that or not.

but yeah man.. that was good to see...

traction is gone... but thats to be expected as the bmw e46/m3/z4m version of traction works by applying brake pressure to the rotor thats has a percentage of slipage. and pulls power from the engine.. as now there is only a direct connection with the ABS pump, and nothing else, its expected that that traction system ceases to function... which is what we wanted, but we wanted to keep the ABS... need the ABS... not sure if thats working yet, but hopefull.. i mean it should... ... i hope....

The dash lights up with the combo signal for ABS/DSC, which is to be expected for no traction control.. will code that light out later..

Edit: note on traction:... Some of yoyu might be reading this and thinking WTF, you /WANT/ traction control.. yes.. agreed if your in the wet, and not the stock traction, but setting
TDR
aktiv

would be whats required for that, however , as this is just a track car, at this stage, ill be good without traction. (dry track only)
but yeah, had a good night talking s**t and running the car chasing any oil leaks.. which there werent. (oil and filter change completed too last night) frikking crap how much castrol is... an extra 2L required due to the larger capacity oil cooler.

Spent another night at the shop... 10pm to 1am.. Needed to drop a set of tpms for the wheels to get remounted. I'll be having a Tpms px display on my android screen in the car, will also display other crap. lap times, temps and other useless info.

Also uploaded tune #10...

Wiped a bunch of codes, restarted, wiped more codes and then called it a night...

Its not my shop, ive made a special deal with Adam, the guy who co-owns the shop that i can come and go as i please, use the lift (its been on the lift now for over a month lolol) (there are 3 other lifts in the shop) and also avail of any mech/avionics help that id need, obviously charged at some rate or rather... but its working out well.

Id def recommend his services/shop.. very good guy to work with. A.M. Motorwerks in Al Quiz, DXB.

Also again, just gotta say thanks for the support from Josh@Severn. Top notch buddy.

Stuffing around with the Android box that's going into the bottom of the dash panel.. initially I bought a touch screen extender that I was going to use instead, but this is much less hassle and weighs pretty close to f**k all.
I was struggling with GPS lap timer , but this will run Harry's petrol head lap timer.. pretty solid app that. And does more than I need it to do.

Don't mind the doddgy as F power brick hook up.. I promise I'll do a proper job in the car, this is just for setting up.

Eagle eyes will also spot the tpms usb receiver.

Havent updated this in a long time... hmm..

there has been some progress...

Woo hoo! It lives :driving:

I'd keep well out from the kerbs though. Don't want to arrive at the track with a small child dangling off the end of the rear spoiler.
