Z4MR - Unreasonable Deal??

Looking for your opinion on a AUC car I'm trying to do a deal on, but with no joy, they're not shifting.

This is the car in question.

Already reduced from £16500 to £15790, supposedly!

I'm asking for an Inspection II to be done, 6 months tax and an extra years warranty (two in total) for £15k.

Am I taking the piss, or does this seem reasonable? I have no trade in and would be a "cash" deal .

From their point of view they know someone will else will take it, AUC car with that colour mileage and spec' it's about as desirable as it gets. Beautiful car

I thought that might be the case :(

I can't go any higher :( I could drop the 2nd year warranty, but I'd rather not.

Warranty wise you generally find anything lurking goes wrong (or is discovered) soon after you get it and is possibly why it was sold. Once it's sorted and bugs ironed out I'd personally take the chance on the second year. If you are in the market a few hundred extra to secure one that seems as good as this is money well spent IMHO.

The Inspection II is due begining of next year I believe, just outwith the AUC criteria.

I do agree with you, things will usually go wrong within a few months of buying the car. I'd probably take my chances on the warranty next for the 2nd year, means I'm not stuck with dealer servicing too :)

give them a call ask to speak to nigel in sales (second name escapes me) nice chap to deal with he may be able to help you

AUC is unfathomable.

I got mine AUC (eventually) 3 and a bit years ago- it was listed for 26 and they'd had it for 3 months already. I offered 24 and they told me to get lost.

a month later they dropped the price to 25. i offered 23. Get stuffed they said.

a month later they dropped the price to 24. i offered 22 and they took it. I would have paid 24 eight weeks earlier!

They've called back and said I can drive it away for £15k as it is. Not even the inspection II and it's not clear if that includes the 6 months tax, I perhaps wrong assumed by the "drive it away"

Anyway, I politely declined. They have my number.

Drive it away would indicate to me that it includes tax.

Tell them that next time they call. There's not long until soft top sales will drop significantly, and they may not want this on their forecourt through winter.

You can put a second year AUC warranty on at point of sale for approx 300 quid- why lose the car for such a small amount of money.

Don't think that would be possible on an ///M considering they want around £1,000 for the full one.

On my x5 the extended warranty should be 1200 quid- point of sale 2nd year AUC warranty (which is better) was 250

Blimey, worth noting for the future.

I was offered the second year free on my previous ///M and free Inspection 2 but still rejected it due to the dodgy service history they failed to tell me.

I never knew- appanently this is the direct cost to them and can always be had at point of sale! Wish Id known when I got the z.

Come down the the dealer i guess and how they can swing the deal. If they give it away at cost they have lost nothing and gained a sale.
