Standard Pagid pads ok for the rear? I'll upgrade the fronts at some point if the car goes near a track. £39 delivered.

Great news on your purchase...

You can get the Imola paintwork like glass with work and some decent product...Had just over 20 hours on mine after i bought it,even though it had been recently "detailed".....


You can get a set of rear discs for £196 delivered from Cotswold BMW...I recently bought some for mine and fitted pagid pads.

Yes.....

Rear are same as E46 M3,but calipers are different on Z4M...

Check the part numbers on the listings...Same as.. :thumbsup:
 
Ah ok thanks. Does the zed have handbrake shoes or use the pads?

Handbrake comes up quite high, pads are low.
 
The use handbrake shoes..

You will find that they are unadjusted (too fiddly and time consuming for dealer techs to get involved with) and the contact face of the handbrake shoe will be rotten and flaking..

Once adjusted properly you will find the handbrake will be great....One/two notches will see it working fine..

Tip..Although fiddly,adjust the handbrake shoes with the wheel on... You get a better feel for correct adjustment..

Yeap it's mine :D Safely tucked up in the garage now after a quick wash. Away from tomorrow morning for a week so gutted I won't be able to use it. It drives really really well, interior is mint as are are the wheels. I'd say overall it's in very good condition, just doesn't quite meet my OCD standards, some areas do need some attention, but I enjoy that. Plus at the price we agree I just couldn't say no, for once I bought with my head and not heard. Went to see it yesterday it's a good one and great spec, Lagos will look better with some elbow grease but please don't get black grills, poor thing!

Here's the thread. Makes sense really. BMW wouldn't fit a component that didn't serve a purpose.

I never bothered doing the delete and after reading that post from Ade I'm quite glad I didn't!
 
I've completely removed a CDV on BMW's before and fitted a Zeckhausen CDV on my old Z4. Never had problems with either and a massive improvement.

Doesn't make as much difference on the M from what others tell me. I've got an unused Zeckhausen one somewhere.
