Z4M Roadster – Black - Low Mileage £12500

That is a well known scam.

They must approach lots of people selling cars.

It was a much simpler time back in the day—my old man would just place an ad in the paper, and a normal fella turned up, cash in hand, happy days. Nowadays, it’s an absolute minefield with the internet—scammers everywhere trying to pull one over on you at every turn.

Don't let it put you off. 99% of people are still honest and decent. Too many people are being frightened off from selling their cars privately due to perceived 'threats'. That then costs everyone, except the car trade, lots of money.

The car trade have enough of a monopoly, they don't need any more of one.

GLWTS and I am sure you will get a decent, honest buyer sooner or later.

There is always a bad one that spoils it for the good ones!
I agree the majority of private buyers are decent and lovely to deal with. Z4 buyers are generally nice people to deal with 👍

Agreed! It's always a bit easier when it's someone off a forum or group.

Already had 3 scammers contact me via Pistonheads. Was a red flag when he said he's after the Z4M for commuting

I was doing over 20,000 miles a year in a Z4MC for commuting (plus another 5k fun miles) - until I got a sensible diesel car when petrol prices went too high.

The car is sold 🎉

I just wanted to take a moment to thank everyone here for the help, advice, and great discussions along the way. This really is a fantastic community. Even though I no longer have a Zed in the garage, this probably isn’t the last you’ll see of me—and who knows, there’s a decent chance I’ll have another one in the future. (Maybe not the full-fat M next time, though :? ).

Cheers,
Abbas

Is it the ///M in general you don't like or was it the specific car - have you owned any of the other Z4 variants?

It’s not that I didn’t like it, but I realised the 3.0si is probably more than enough for me given my limited skillset and what I’m comfortable doing on public roads. It’s often said the 3.0si offers about 80% of what an M does, and for my level of driving ability, that 80% is plenty. I never quite had the confidence—or the nerve—to fully exploit the M, but that’s just me. I’m still very much a beginner when it comes to driving hard.

On a more subjective note, I found the ludicrous sound of the 3.0si with the foam removed absolutely intoxicating—so much so that I actually preferred it over the aftermarket intake on the Z4M.

That said, a sports car just doesn’t suit my needs at the moment, so sadly, it had to go.

I’ve owned four E85 Z4s now—a couple of 3.0si’s, a 2.0, and now an M. Who knows, maybe there will be a fifth one day 🙂

Interesting and clearly you're not a novice when it comes to owning a Z4 so hopefully you'll be back for more sooner rather than later

Just wanted to say thanks again for delivering the car Abbas - I had planned on making a SORN and waiting until next year but where's the fun in that.

Anyway having paid for 12 months tax it only seemed right to get out in it for a drive this afternoon

Ey up. I had no idea you’ve had so many Z’s

No problem, it was a pleasure and it was nice to have one last drive in it :) I’ve no doubt it’ll be in good hands.

Enjoy it sir.

I'll keep you posted Stuart - how you getting on with that coupe?

I'd hate to think how many I've had since I came to see you with mine - in fact I've had two E86's before you count the others :headbang:

Is he Pondrew's twin?

No, Pondrew has only has only had two Z4s AFAIK - he's just a beginner!

mr wilks used to be a serial Z4 owner but has moved elsewhere and jamie_z4 hasn't been on here lately either.

Apologies to Garrie for spelling his name wrong in my previous post.

I know what that's like!

Iain.
