Z4M Roadster – Black - Low Mileage £12500

Hello all,

Car is back on sale. I had marked this as 'sold' as a potential buyer had left a deposit to pick up at the end of the month, but when the end of the month arrived, I couldn't get hold of him. Think they have even blocked my number  Odd. Just tell me you've found something else, it won't hurt my feelings.

I have amended the first post to have more clarity, along with a walk around video.

Have you heard anything back from the dealer?

I reached out to the dealership I purchased the car from, and they provided a clear NMR Report, which I have attached. I trusted their report, as multiple dealerships I contacted for potential part-exchanges did not detect any issues during their checks—they were only made aware after I disclosed the discrepancy. I have attached it in this post, and it's also on the first post.

It's worth noting that the same MOT garage conducted the tests in both 2018 and 2019 when the discrepancy occurred, which is somewhat reassuring as it wasn't a one-off 'friendly' establishment. I contacted the garage, and they acknowledged their error but conceded that it was too late to make amendments on the official record.

I also submitted an application to the DVSA to correct this issue, but it was rejected due to insufficient evidence, likely because there is no receipt or invoice available to confirm the actual mileage in 2019.

Also apologies on the 'full service history' thing, I'm not too experienced with selling cars and terminology. I have changed it to 'service history'. It does have plenty of paperwork and has been serviced within 10,000 mile intervals and that was good enough for me. It also has records of VANOS maintenance around 15,000 miles ago. I'll get a scan of that if it helps.

All this being said, I have priced this car extremely competitively at £12,500 to ease any sleepless nights the discrepancy may bring. In my opinion, it represents an excellent deal for a clean, well-maintained vehicle with low mileage. Additionally, I am open to negotiating for a quick sale, as I am eager to move into a 5-door vehicle as soon as possible.

To me it looks to be a genuine mistake.
Looks like a good buy for someone 🙂

I agree. it's a 5k discrepancy. I'm not sure how clocking cars works but I feel like if someone was gonna do it they'd roll it back alot more than that, and it's not like it was a 150k car before then. It looks and feels very much like a 50,000 mile car when you see it, and hopefully the walk around video attests to that. I've never had any suspicion that something dodgy went on.

Obviously this car is an enthusiast car so owners usually want an absolutely pristine record. But on the flip side I'm also not charging a premium for it here either.

Just my thoughts though. :)

Holy moly!
A 50k Z4MR, good advert, good history, good spec, good pictures, and from a seasoned forum member.
I'm amazed this has not sold.

Even with the mileage discrepancy, this should sell. Have you thought about putting it on AT? Looking at others forsale on there this would look like a huge bargain at £12,500 with the mileage

it was on there originally but my ad ran out, it's not cheap AT! But I may put it back on there again. Market is very strange at the moment, it was a bit quiet on AT to be honest. I would have snapped this up if I was in the market.

AT is the best site to advertise. It is my go to when initially looking for cars. If I don't see anything on AT I will look at the other options.

I've sold cars over Gumtree before. I bought a runaround on eBay recently.

The prices of cars on eBay if they do an auction are very low. It looks like most of the time the seller just relists the car and claims the buyer was a time waster when they get nowhere near what they thought.

Just bit the bullet and put it on AT for 13k. I suppose the potential audience is much greater on there. Knocked 500 quid off for a forum member in here

I do exactly the same.

My first go to is Pistonheads, that is where I have sold all mine as well

And good luck with the sale, I am sure it will be fine at that price bracket. If the seats were red and it had satnav, I would be talking to you as the mileage gap does not bother me to that extend.

Thanks Fellas. Somebody will snap it up eventually :D

I assume you want the satnav to get CarPlay working on it? Makes sense! Really transforms the car.

Yep, I need the OEM screen in the car for that purpose only. I have retrofitted them before, and the last fit was just shy of £1k in parts and I am not sure if I would be able to get all the parts now.

As said, the price is all good so I think you will get a bite as I regularly speak to people who are looking at that price bracket. The seats would not even be a show stopper as I could swap with my current ones.

Probably when they’ve been shill bidding!

A low mile ZMR sold last week for £12.2k so you’re in the right ball park OP. Hope you find a buyer soon. 👍🏻

just had a potential buyer reach out wanting to arrange a visit, but then insisted I go to www.thewheelcheck.com to pull up a report for his “peace of mind,” promising to reimburse me for the cost. He claimed he couldn’t do it on his end 🙄. I felt something was off, so I asked a few friends, and it turns out this is a known scam to get people’s card details. Glad I checked!

Posting this as a heads-up for others—seems you really can’t be too careful these days.
