Depending on where it is I would come along for a meet and a BBQ, but would struggle to stay over. New baby means I can't just dump the wife at home!

Not sure how I didn't spot this earlier but yeah, count me in! Camping and Z4 chat, if we can manage a BBQ and a couple of beers then it sounds like the perfect weekend :thumbsup:

Need to start cracking with the organisation with this one as the months and weeks are flying by! Feels like I go to work on Monday and by end of the day its Friday!
 
Yes after the last couple of meets we should be able to get a good turn out for this. I'm happy to organise one of the drives maybe the Lakes on the Saturday. I also need to get a room booked.
 
Damn it. I have a commitment on the Saturday I can't get out of. Problem is, I had too much fun in North Wales... given Flatout's commitment for that meet I may have to "pop up" for the Sunday :driving:

Will wait until I see the itinerary. Also, how hungover you guys going to be come Sunday :roll:

weekend 2nd/3rd July, looking at staying around Kendal. Hotel is suggested somewhere on the thread. Drive Sat into Lakes then Sunday into Dales. Some will stay over others may travel up for one/both days. :driving:

I believe I may be able to make this... put me down as a probable, will confirm shortly :)

Was there talk of camping?

Me too - but might have to day-trip - only a couple of hours from my gaff - details please! :)
 
I know Craig is busy arranging his wedding at present but he has asked me to firm things up so we can get this booked.

We had a word with the Crooklands Hotel, Crooklands near Kendal. At the moment they have plenty of rooms available (about 25)

prices:- £94 for a standard room B & B for two per night.
£110 for superior.
£70 Single room B &B.
Crooklands Hotel telephone - 015395 67432

Campsite Waters Edge Caravan Park Crooklands. 015395 67708. tents £15-£25 per night depending on size/numbers.

I'm looking at other camp sites as hotel tell me there's one even nearer but they're not sure if they accept tents. The Waters Edge is 1/2 mile away so that would do. Hotel has a large restaurant so we could try to sort a meal there on saturday night. May be able to negotiate a discount if we get enough rooms booked so get ringing!!! :)
In terms of itinery:-

10.00am Saturday from Crooklands Hotel, Lake District drive, (organised by Sammyz) stopping in Keswick for lunch.Taking in Kirkstone and Whinlatter Passes.
10:30am Sunday from Crooklands Hotel, Yorkshire Dales run stopping at Hawes (maybe) for lunch.Not sure of exact route yet.

As several people seem to be unaware of the arrangements perhaps one of the mods could change the title of the thread to include the date?

I can't make it! The gf has booked our holiday for 10 days encompassing that weekend :cry:

I'm considering causing a massive argument before the holiday so she'll storm off without me and I can go driving. I'll buy her an ice cream when she gets back and all will be forgiven... Women are ok with that sort of thing, aren't they?
