Hi everyone,as john said(sammyz),i have been a bit busy with my impending wedding plans
Anyway,list now updated/as per above and on page2 of the thread
John has kindly sorted a route for sat/still working on sunday,tho it will be in the york dales area
Can u please post/pm,etc ,if u havnt done so already,so myself/john can get an idea of numbers,thanks
PS:We are wanting to get this booked by the end of this month(7 days time),

A 'scenic' group for the more laidback GT drivers, A 'sports' group for those that want to get on with it and a 'Blueflash' group who want to try and keep up with Woots

On a serious note, If all 34 (at the moment) turn up does any one have any experience with dealing with a large gatherin like this in terms of any legalities and stuff. i.e do we by law have to tell any authorities like the police etc? :?

we will split into at least two groups if we do get thirty cars. I'm certain when I've been to large gatherings before we didn't tell the Police but I will check it out. We will need to advise the Hotel bar of a high demand in beer for the saturday night though

God, ya know when i read that last post i made back.....I SOUND LIKE MY DAD!!!!!
I'm up for camping in any of the locations.. doesn't really bother me
The girlfriend wants to know if this is a, and I use her words, "Hairdressers only" meet, or are other marques allowed to attend? (she wants to bring her corrado, as she gets bored when she's not the one driving on good roads)

Wow, that's a big list! I'd say if 30+ cars turn up that splitting into groups with 6-7 cars max per group - groups bigger than that are awkward to manage. Set off groups at 5/10min intervals with pre-arranged regathering points, so everyone can catch up and chat.
I'd not a definate at the moment. Plus there's still a high chance I'll be in my "camper" van rather than the z4 if it turns out the wife and me are away on our hols at the time of the meet. Just means I'll either not do the driving and go out MTBing during the day, or might dump the wife for the day and grab a passenger seat...

If you have a look at the Waters Edge campsite in Crooklands (they have a website) it is only a few hundred yards from the Hotel where many will be staying. There are plenty of other sites in the Lakes but we thought somewhere near the hotel would be ideal. If the weather is good then people may want to barbie etc but if it's poor the Hotel has a pub attached that does decent food.
We will split into smaller groups for the drives as 30+ cars would be too many to manage on busy Lake District roads.

As john(sammyz) mentioned above,the idea would be to split into 2 groups,and arrange designated meeting points for lunch,etc.
As for the legalities,i have never organised large meets b4,but those that do,for the Scottish BMW Carclub meets,never notify police and there's about 20-30 cars at most meets/drives(with only the odd cpl of ppl getting lost,lol).

Hi folks
This is some of the(ongoing)plans for our z4forum "national meet".
Meeting up at the ******* hotel carpark Sat,mid to late, morning(will pm final details to all coming/For Security reasons),OR Friday late aftn/for those wanting a break btwn driving or coming from further afield.(i mt be driving down fri aftn,still to decide)
We have talked to the hotel and a nearby campsite(pm me for details on camping,etc),and they are more than happy to acmdt us all
)
Hotel is £94 per nt bed/brkfst for a dbl room(total/ie.£47 each),or £70 for a single room/tho feel free to find and book somewr NEARBY(if cheaper/better for any1).
Campsite is £15 to £25 per tent per nt,depending on size of tent and ppl staying in it,with a seperate area for tents(does caravans too) and they have hot showers,etc to use.
They also have a nice scenic /pond area,complete with brick built bbq areas
SATURDAY DRIVE/THE LAKES
Proposed route will be:- ****** hotel -newby bridge-silecroft(on the sea & toilets). to Keswick (lunch & petrol) troutbeck(ulleswater)-windermere,etc/back to-******* hotel. John/myself will sort out the maps, directions etc on this route so don't worry about that. Much of the route is A road but it's usually pretty quiet with plenty of overtaking points.After we get to the Lakes proper some of the roads are a bit narrower.
(Aprox 4hours driving).
After the drive,and we have all freshened up,either a meal at the hotel/and or a bbq at the campsite(after stocking up at local supermarket
This is just a shortened outline/full info will be pm'd to all going.(and maps/route printouts, given on the day)
SUNDAY DRIVE/YORKS DALES
Proposed routes :STILL BEING PLANNED),tho will be a later start than sat/for an extra hour lie in for those needn to recover,lol.
Aprox 3hour drive??
If bbq on sat,dinner at hotel/pub next door on the sunday/or vice versa
Look forward to getting all the ppl on the list as booked up/committed,ASAP.
