Isn't the auto gear selector meant to be the new style like the DCT one?

Not sure I hope so, I do like those paddles...that is a DCT he is driving though.

It should be an 8 speed auto/paddleshift on the new 4 pots. DCT boxes are only available on the 35i models. The later style selector is used on the UK spec models.

Yes it does. I know he says it's a 20i but I'm pretty sure that's a 23i that he's driving.

Hold on a moment, are you saying that the exhaust note we have all been creaming our pants over is coming from a 23i and not a 20i?

So it is the 2.5l six that is making that noise? He specifically says it is the new 4 pot turbo 20i...

I think it is unless the gear selector for the UK in the new style and not for other markets....would be odd that the 2.0 elsewhere has the old style....

Yes you are correct, I wasn't aware the DCT is not available on the 20i so that must be the new style auto shifter and paddles...

I would say so. Apart from the shifter, the redline on the car he drives doesn't start until 7000 and although I don't have a pic or recall where the redline starts on the 20i, I would say that it would be sooner than 7000.

Perhaps someone with a 20i can post a pic of their rev counter?

This is a dyno test of the 28i unit showing what it revs to, and some idea of how the new 4 pots sound.

Going to be honest, they had an auto 2.0 in the showroom that I sat in and it looked exactly the same as that one and the interior, gear selectors, etc.

The engine noise sounds similar. This is BMW, these guys knowing engine sounds sell cars! Especially a Z4

Hi all,

Interested to hear what does everyone think. I've been offered this - is this a good deal?

Z4 2.0i M Sport in white
Coral red interior
Comfort pack
19" 326 M alloy wheels
Heated seats
Sports seats
Bluetooth phone prep
Fuel, 12 months tax, registration, delivery
Total £35,400

20k mileage a year

3k deposit
399 per month, 24 months

Thanks

To me the 19" wheels finish the car off. I understand they will impact the ride comfort and noise etc. altho this is an improvement over my 350z which it replaces!

I'm not sure on the dealer contribution but based on a residual of say, 16k I thought this deal was quite competitive? I'm interested to hear how you think it may be bettered?

326M wheels are the way to go. Got them on mine, see what you think....

Well some of us have got a 8.5k dealer contribution. Obviously that will have a greater impact on your monthlys. You may be able to keep your 3k

I still get so many looks, maybe because it's a white car, but I just think it looks gorgeous. Better sometimes with the roof up....

must admit not a great fan of white cars but in the m guise it does look smart, so tempted by the current deal but have a house purchase imminent so got to sit on my hands but would probably go for space grey with red leather

If i hadn't just spent some money on getting mine rapaired i probably would've been all over this offer.
whilst i was in getting the car looked at the salesman who sold me the coupe showed me a 2.0 e89 with the m upgrade i must say it looked awesome

Thanks Keith I will try to better the deal. Also I have been told the car is available this week rather than having to wait 6-8 weeks.
