I dont think I have been offereda very good deal by my local dealer. Alpine White in Coral Red leather, no options. Deposit of £3000, of which £1500 is to pay off the negative equity in my part ex). So essentially £1500 deposit against the car and £335 PCM over 4 years and 10k miles per year.

Not really sure what to make of it to be fair.

Financing an extra £500 (1500 instead of 2000 deposit) adds about £11.50 to the payment. £311 a month.

10k miles will have a lower Option Final price. That will add to the payments too. I don't know what the difference in final price between 8k/year and 10k/yearis. If the option final price is just over £1000 lower than it would be for 8K miles, then £335 is about right.

hope this helps.

Remember you need to return the car in good repair if you don' t part exchange it. 4 years puts you past the end of the warranty. . .

Do you really need to clear off the negative equity, can you not just VT (voluntary terminate) the agreement?

Sorry to say, but I would agree this isn't a particularly attractive deal. :(

That doesn't sound right to me, what you have is the basic offer vehicle...which should be 2k deposit and £299 per month over either 24 or 48 months at 4.9% based on which dealer you choose.

If it is not to late, and in my view it isn't until you pick up the car, I would tell your dealer to shove it and go elsewhere. You can deal over the internet or the phone with dealers anywhere in the country, my mate had dealers in Preston, Liverpool, Manchester and Warrington all bidding for his order. Haliwell Jones in Warrington made him an offer that the others couldn't match, he still contacted them all and gave them the chance though...

yes I am in the North East. There is a few dealers around here that I can get other quotes from. Unfortunately I cant voluntary terminate yet, only 16 months into a 36 month deal. I was hoping for payments of £300 with a £2000 deposit from myself and for BMW to pay off the finance on my current car. Perhaps I am hoping for too much. I will shop around but if I can't get much better I will consider holding out until out of negative equity and my even look at something all together different. Evoque perhaps, but would need a significantly bigger deposit ;)

Probably -- you need something like an extra £2400 over the £8000 best offers we've seen here.

Your best option is to wait out your current contract. There is always something with a good offer.

What I would do would be get trade in price, Apr and final payments... Go onto brokers website eg broadspeed then get the dealer to match, if the brokers new car price is a lot cheaper than what the dealer quoted then your monthly payment drops. The final payment trade in and Apr shouldn't change

I got my car from a dealer in the north east pm me and I will give you the details as they matched broadspeed for me and matched BMW promotional finance rates

BTW I am back in to see my dealer tomorrow, he either gives me a better deal or I am cancelling so watch this space...

OK I have been back to see the dealer and renegotiated, didn't get to exactly where I wanted to be but got what I consider a good package within my budget and a damn sight better than what I had started with. It wasn't easy, they kept banging on about allowances and contributions the magic figure of £2225 kept coming up all the time...in the end I just said I want X,Y and Z for this amount per month with this deposit or I am walking out now. strange how they can suddenly rework the figures to make it fit your numbers!

Still somehow get the feeling I am being ripped off or rather not getting the best deal available. Why do they do this? I now have a new relationship with my dealer based on me thinking they are not trustworthy and don't have my best interest at heart...

They wonder why people stereotype them, I had the sales exec, the sales manager and the finance manager all around me at one point each bleating their heart out about how they were doing the best they could...and every 5 minutes they did a little better than the best they could do previously. Each of them had slightly different variants of pin-stripe suit on but they all shared the slicked back hair look, funny how you notice these little things when you are in the frame of mind I was. I am sorry to offend anybody but there is a category of individuals in the car sales, double glazing and insurance business that no matter what they do they will never be trusted, but they never do anything to try and change that situation and develop that trust...they continue to give as little as they have too for as much as they can hoping that the mugs and the naive amongst us will think we have a good deal. They then have the cheek to ask why they have such a reputation...

This was BMW I was dealing with, one of the world's most prestigious Marque's not Swiss Tony under the arches, but truth is I couldn't identify a discernable difference.

I still don't have the same deal as my friend, with the same dealer by the way, he has his own business and negotiates car lease deals every now and again, he currently has his employees in Audi's along with his own A8. In his own words he said he had the dealer tied in knots, not the same sales exec as mine, he has the same spec as me with the same deposit but a dealer selling price of £27,285 and £346 per month. This was what I went in with but they just wouldn't match it saying the salesman had over sold himself and made a mistake that they weren't prepared to do again...

Anyhow here you go...

Isnt the selling price on your friends deal before interest is added, and the selling price on yours inclusive of interest? The deals look similar otherwise. I wouldnt lose sleep about the repayments being £4 pm more.

Still looks a cracking deal either way

I have just got the chance to check out the numbers and you are correct, so I feel even better now...think I have done the best I can so I will sit back and embark on the long wiat for delivery... :D

Two weeks later and after speaking to 3 dealers, I am still trying to sort out a test drive for one of these. They seem like rocking horse sh*t at the moment!

My local dealer had one at one of their other dealerships that they were going to get for this weekend for me, but apparently someone bought the demo car! It seems no dealer is keen to put a demo on, as they can sell all the cars they can get at the moment.

However good a deal it is, we are not going to buy one until we have had a decent test drive :(

I have only test drove the 2.3i however I hear the 2.0i is a real bit of fun. The power comes from mid range and when you hear that turbo spool! Well! The smile comes to your face. The engine sounds good but obviously that's due to the electronic sound modifier. Here is the fucked up part, the new mclaren uses the same sort of electronic sound modifier so they get a good sound of it!

Car nuts = paying 35 grand for a mechanical sound!

I feel like a mug now lol!

Sound modifier or not this will defiantly be putting a smile on my face...

Z4 sDrive 20i, just listen to the last 15 sec.

Arghhh! I want my car!!! Love the exhaust note, they've done a good job with the sound whatever they did.

Glad I picked white as well, should look even better in the M Sport body kit.

That's for posting the video, anyone got any more of the 20i? Most of the one's on youtube are for the sixes.

The car looks good in white, apart from the boot doesn't look like it shuts properly before he drives off. I also quite like the cream interior with the white, but if we do end up getting one my other half definitely wants black so that's a non starter.

But where the hell did they get that presenter from!

Isn't the auto gear selector meant to be the new style like the DCT one?

Here you go, another video review with a presenter that isn't reviewing the car because the surf isn't good enough to get the board out...

Space Grey with Red Leather...nice...

"DeonG" has sort of grown on me now though, I have watched the video so many times just for the last 10 seconds, yes he is a knob but I think he sort of makes that video worth watching because the review is crap...

By the way, does anyone know how to make a ringtone using the exhaust note at the end of the video? If you do then do it and post it back on the forum.

One other thing of note is the music, "Starlight by Eric Kupper" I have always liked that track, very uplifting if you are into that type of thing...it's here if anyone is interested.

Yes it does. I know he says it's a 20i but I'm pretty sure that's a 23i that he's driving.
