What have you done to your car today?

Went out for a top-down drive in the sunshine yesterday evening with the Mrs in her very first Zed… it’s safe to say she really enjoys owning her own proper straight 6 sports car

I was surprised at how sprightly the 177BHP N52 is to be honest. It’s not ‘warp-speed’ obviously but it’s sewing-machine smooth and fast enough to have a bit of fun on the twisties.

Project shoe-string, back on the road and being enjoyed  8)

Not me but my son (age 10) always wanted a clean engine bay. Got him some Autoglym Engine Cleaner and some Vinyl and Rubber Care and let him at it.
I reckon he did a pretty good job!

Had a long weekend away driving The awesome Welsh roads in the Z, with my son in his TVR. Stayed up in Bangor, did Anglesey Circuit on Monday and drove home on Tuesday. Feels like I bought some very expensive shares in the V-Power Mine. The 18"PS4 tyre took a real bashing and I think I need more grip to catch those GT3's or at least get a longer look at their rear ends :D Now it's time for a good clean.

Lovely, top products those two.

The only reason I stopped using the autoglym engine&machine cleaner is because Bilt Hamber Surfex HD is just as effective (and more versatile) but loads cheaper if bought in 5L container

TVR sagaris was one of my favourite ever cars. Along with the Toyota Supra, jaguar xj220 and the BMW Z4 and 6 series.

There was another TVR I really liked but I cannot recall now which one it was I don't think it was road legal if I recall correctly.

Installed Mewant leather steering wheel cover (from eBay). Takes quite a bit of time and patience to install but it really makes a difference in driving. With thicker and non-slippery wheel, steering feels more confident and it also takes some vibration off when driving on rougher surfaces.

You installed it on the wrong side of the car :poke:

Finished sorting out the tatty front brace bar. Repainted in anthracite, a compromise for those who think black is the only colour vs the Ti silver I had originally intended.

Also dunked the hood latch in rust remover and sprayed in hammertite.

Also tried out Gtechniq C4 permanent trim restorer on the grayed mirror plastics, cowling and grille. Im curious to see how long the finish lasts. Its advertised as up to 2 years. Lets see.

Don't be daft!
It would look silly on the outside.

I'm thinking of doing mine in the same colour as my calipers.

Did you have to take the front bumper off for access?

I did. Previous owner seemed to have glued the front grille so was not possible to fish it out from there.

Not such a difficult task. Hardest part is clipping and unclipping the bumber where it meets the fender wall at the reflectors. Also getting the screws back in on the underside. In the end I used the selfie cam on my phone to line up all the holes.
Didnt pull the bumber far from the car so all that needed to be unhooked were the foglight cables, just a simple push clips. Headight washers stayed connected.

Full set of 18” Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6s fitted. The car has been on Yokohama run-flats since I bought it which were refusing to wear out and still looked fresh after 20k miles. Chose the A6s for their reportedly sporty yet super quiet attributes: most of my miles are motorway. Initial impressions on a gentle drive home attest to the latter, with comfort on broken streets definitely improved. It may just be an optical illusion from the chunky rim protection, but in OE sizes they look like they have a bit of stretch F+R and even less sidewall than before.

Your 10 year old did that?   My 10 year nephew could NOT flip his own burger over the grill.
That kid shows promise

I think the trick is not to open the bonnet and let them out until they've finished. :D
