What have you done to your car today?

Would be good to see some photos of the roof

Still drying.

Not the best job but it looks much better than what it did previously.

Make sure you wear gloves. I forgot to and my hands and nails haven't fared to well. I just bought a 100 pack the other week as well of nitrile gloves and keep forgetting to use them as never bothered in the past

Going to give it another coat before sundown. Might as well use the full amount of reviver it probably won't last a year of storage anyway now it's been opened.

I have a full chrome one and i ordered an all black one. I may do the same if I don't like the look of all black. All chrome looks very dated now.

For a little while now I have had a trail of water running out of my rear passenger roof drain after driving on bad road surfaces. So today’s job was to get the muck out. Took wheel off and plastic stuff then the rubber bung thing, little bit of clean water but no muck. Had a poke around up the pipe, something’s stuck so using my Transit mr whippy I gently poked around from the top in the water and found the hole. Pushed it into the hole and out popped this, 2 little bits of wood and some fur. Who knows what you’re going to find in your pipes.2068316F-C031-41BA-83C2-C3ACB8E64404.jpeg

Used normal fabsil on my roof to waterproof it.

I noticed after using renovo reviver the roof seems to have a bit of crunch to it. Much more firmer. And has resolved the issue of not folding correctly on one side at least.

I would highly recommend this now to anyone who has never revived their roof.

A deep clean is the first stage. Using an all purpose cleaner, fabric cleaner or rag top cleaner.

Second stage is the recolouring using renovo I think is the most popular choice other products are available.

Then a reseal using gyeon, autoglym or fabsils offerings.

Water will then just bead and run off the roof as if it was metal. You need to repeat this stage once a year is recommended. As they say the fabsil lasts roughly 18 months or so long as you don't "wash the roof". All it should need is a vacuum once sealed. No products required for cleaning.

I did just a single coat of fabsil. I'll need to check if I need to do another. I don't think so but best to double check.

I did this at the weekend and the weekend before.

My left side drain was stuck at the top and the hole at the top needed poked and everything came flooding out.

The right side had the issue at the bottom end where the bung was full of mud and required a poke a bottle brush poked and came out black with mud. I then poured water at the top and everything came flooding out.

I am now rinsing both sides to get rid of debris with every wash. I am surprised though what you found. A twig must have snapped off and got trapped in the rear of your hood at some point. I think that's extremely bad luck. Mine was just full of dirt and grime

Yes it was because otherwise it was spotless with clean water, needless to say I left the bung off.

The Z4M kidneys are chrome surround and black slats as standard. Easier to order a set of them and sell the others if you want to go chrome and black route no?

Nothing to mine but an ultra marathon on

Johnstanners318

3.0i 53 plate

Great motor to work on and interesting as it’s got a hydraulic steering rack setup installed

I know John has a lot planned for it- new panels, heated seats and proper cat exhausts

Today we smashed out:

New brakes front and rear
New suspension including bushes and drop links
Vanos
Water pump thermostat and full service
Sparks and filters
CDV delete
New gearbox and diff oil

Only made one slight fluff up with the valve cover gasket but it wouldn’t be a full day without one foul up!

I bet that was a thoroughly rewarding days work, I imagine that felt like a completely different car after that lot
Hope so as it’s a lovely car
Grateful for the help from bigwinn.

It drives like new now. Very responsive. Much improved. Still a few bits to do to get her looking sweet.

Busy weekend:

- Changed front wishbones
- Fitted a prefacelift YAW sensor. Then removed it and refitted the original, before refitting the prefacelift one again (1 orange light is better than 3)
- Transmission fluid change
- ZHP gearknob fitted (bonus points for avoiding a face full of oem gearknob)
- Bluemusic module fitted (kudos to inkey for their how to)
- De-clogged windscreen washer pipes
- Reset the windows (took ages until I learned there were multiple methods you can follow :headbang: )

All with the help of Calps Snr, and under the watchful eyes of Calps jnr and Calps jnr jnr.

The coupe grows on me every year that passes. It's got something about it a bit of a cross between a old jag and a modern Aston.

Collected wheels from refurb.

It's an Audi colour scheme - smoke/black chrome or whatever they call it on the face and satin black with some kind of fleck through it in the barrels.

2 coats of gyeon rim and they are already on the car.

Where did you get them done and was it a huuuuuge amount of cash?
