Test fitted a newly acquired set of style 189s. They passed the first test - I like ‘em.
They need a bit of TLC so considering a refurb in either same colour or gunmetal (as per my ramblings in my own thread on the topic).

As for me, today I swapped the PCB from pre-facelift heater controls over to a facelift (has the silver on the dials), also fitted my GapTech that arrived today as well as doing the alu DISA upgrade
I also fitted my spoiler over the weekend..... BUT..... I made 2 school boy errors!!
Firstly - cheap masking tape
Took me about an hour of using hot soapy water to get the tape off... I had some beta link cleaner over as well which worked amazing on the sticky residue so thankfully that was solved easily....
Second school boy error though - used quick clamps to hold spoiler in place... place tarpaulin between grip and spoiler to "prevent damage / scratches / denting" ... instead I ended up with the tarpaulin print pressed into it
That spoiler is on there solid now, so looks like I'll be rubbing down and re-spraying on the car. Ah well, sh*t happens sometimes

New Windscreen fitted 8) it was scratched and stonechipped badly anyway, so the crack was a blessing in disguise :lol:
I was worried he would turn up with the wrong screen, as was he. He said there are 21 different windscreen configurations for the Z4! Fortunately my details were already on the autoglass system, so they just re-ordered the same replacement.
45 minutes and job done. Even the trim around the edge looks alright. I watched him remove it, incase I wanted to replace it with an OEM one, seems like an easy job if needed.
Now I just can finally see where I'm going

Yeah, I haven’t added the relay into the car’s control module which does exactly as you say. I’ve just used the windscreen pump as a signal for the new relay for the MOT.
Empties the entire tank in about 15 seconds!
My centre brake light led has had a section missing for ages. I replaced it in late 2016, so it wasn't even 2 years old.
It wasn't worth my time and petrol to drive all the way to the nearest dealership twice to get it replaced under warranty, so I bought on from a BMW dealer on eBay for £53.20
Replaced it yesterday and upon removal of the ''old'' one, it literally fell apart in my hands
absolutely shocking build quality for an OEM part. No wonder some of the LED'S had failed!
Anyway, I had to end up smashing it to pieces to get the entire housing out. Fitting of the new one was simple, but the gasket type sealant stuff that sits around the edge of the clear brake light cover looked absolutely terrible, so I ended up rubbing it down slightly, as it was protruding from the tailgate and looks unsightly.
Much better now, but I'm always worried how long it will actually last. This is my 3rd or 4th new genuine centre brake light, the first one cracked, so I bought new springs and bolts for the next one. Now the casings just fall apart or the LED'S fail.
Oh well, looks like it's a yearly maintenance item :lol:
