What have you done to your car today?

Haven't driven the car since Friday afternoon. Went out to wash it this morning and was greeted by a vertical crack spanning the entire length of the windscreen :headbang:

It's right in the line of sight for the driver aswell... That's another £75 down the drain then.

Can just about see the top half here. It must have been caused by the heat as there was nothing there when I last drove it.

Be amazed if the heat has done that Ben, more like a chip which has just let go. I had this once on my van, I could not see why my screen had cracked one morning, the guy who came out to replace it said I had a small chip on the edge of the screen

You have seen the light and are looking to add wood to the Zed :P

Not quite, Fred, but I like the hopeful and slightly lonely tone of this comment. :D

I’m pushing out the front ducts and liner a bit so they clear the tyre.

Dyson not quite up to the job. Need to try the heat gun and maybe a mini roller.

New one on me!

Picked up my first Z on Friday and have driven it pretty much non-stop since! Today though I took to some lovely country pubs in Somerset and enjoyed an early evening blast home back to Bristol where i discovered 90% of the South West's fly population are now splattered across the front of the car.

First hand wash and polish in my ownership. Even now the heat of the day is deminishing it’s hot work. A good chance to get to know the car’s exterior though, noting any dinks, grazes and scuffs. I’m really happy to report that there are very few. Amazing for its age.

The previous owner must have got busy with the clay and DA polisher I reckon, as the paint is as smooth as glass and there’s almost no swirlies! :D

I'll be interested to learn if this works

As the weather here today was not too good, I took the coupe to work and treated it to a quick wash. Next treat her to a proper wash and it's first polish since I've had her.

New wishbones and bushes fitted today , which should tighten things up, and fresh mot😀
After 6 hours cycling yesterday, I have to admit, I drove out for an hour in the evening, but just didn’t want any more sun on me , so kept the roof up.

Changed the old Philips (crystal vision I think) bulbs for some GE sport ultra lights.

The light output is massively better, and I'm not surprised after checking out the old bulbs. Surprised they were still working

Anyway. This is, by far, the easiest way to change a bulb in the headlamp is your Z4 is lowered. Don't even both trying to do it without jacking the car up, at the very least!

15 minutes per side, hopefully they'll last a year before needing to be replaced.

Windscreen is supposedly being fitted tomorrow. I say supposedly because the last 2 times I've had windscreens in this Z4 (this will be the 4th in 6 years of ownership) they've brought out a Z4 coupe windscreen :headbang: I have left a note reminding them it is infact a roadster, but I bet they still bring the wrong one out

Got a link to these bulbs Ben?
I'm using Osram Night Breakers H7 12v 55w @ £15 a pair - wondering if yours are any brighter?

I purchased them from a German eBay seller for £10.15, but they are available from a UK seller for £16.75.

They are much brighter than Philips Crystal Vision. Infact, they're brighter than any halogen bulbs I've had previously. The only reason I went for these is because they have a 4200k output, so are slightly whiter than normal bulbs.

Here's the link:

I'll try and get a photo of them at night and will post it up

Well, not today, but yesterday actually, I washed the car. So? Well, since deciding that this car will no longer be driven in the wet, it's such a different experience for the washing cycle. No more mud under the arches or below the sills. Just a massively easier job.

Back up on msport springs, much better matched to the Bilsteins imo :driving:
Some taller tyres at the front and the arch gap will be acceptable I think
