What have you done to your car today?

No jobs as such, but a little drive out this evening has highlighted a couple of slightly irritating rattles that need investigation. Such a great evening for a drive. Warm and bright, the only problems were the low sun at times and the fact that the front of the car and windscreen are peppered with dead insects! :-x

Sanitised my aircon system and replaced my cabin filter. Note to others; do NOT buy a crosland filter. They are just a little too big. A Mann filter came out and that's what will be going in next. Also found I have a little vacuum on the oil cap, so the CCV will be on my agenda to repair at some stage....

There is supposed to be a vacuum in the crankcase when the engine is running, rather than pressurisation.

Nice drive out on Bodmin moor today. Finished up at the Jamaica Inn again. I do enjoy their steak and ale pie. Then a spirited drive back across the moor home as Mrs G had transferred to our daughter's car. :driving: :D By the time they pulled up I had the Zed washed and was started on the Hoovering. :o A really good day. :)

So a little vacuum is OK?

Took the car for its first runout since Nov ‘17
Up thro Weardale into Upper Teesdale.

Some horrendous potholes tho.

Replaced the filters(rubber grommet with filter under it) for both washer pumps. $20 for both and 15minutes to change them. Now perhaps the washer fluid will stay in a bit longer

Just came back from a run about and put n burnt £20.00 in the Z3. About to the same in the Z4 now. Not wasting this, weather.
I hope this counts.

Went to complete the fitting of my new brake braided brake hoses, ended up ordering a new caliper. Job now on hold until it arrives.

As my Zed is still out of action, we headed for the Gaydon motor museum in the MR2, to meet up with the Practical Classics Magazine gang for the start of this https://www.practicalclassics.co.uk/bestclassic/. Had a free mooch around the museum and the Jaguar collection, then a free Bacon butty and cuppa  . We all then headed South in convoy to Bicester Heritage for a tour around the site and a big group photo.
Hopefully I will see the MR2 in Practical classics next month.
PC are doing a drive around a lot of the UK and are happy to meet up with classics on the route
Fingers and everything crossed, I will get to see the auto electrician tomorrow, so he can have a good delve into the Zed.

Went for an early morning run on near empty roads, spreading the sound of the howling six all over the Gower,
then back for a snowfoam, wash, dry and into garage to cool paint before dodo juice to all upper surfaces
Evening came, more howling ensues up and around Brecon, but now the flies are heaped across all forward facing parts.
A great day
