Finally have the car the way I want it.
Wheels refurbed and thoroughly detailed.
Just need some better weather to enjoy it.

Love that colour/wheel combo on a Coupe superb

I don't know Simon, but at the worst just do it the other way.i.e. battery disconnect for 1/2 hrs prior to commencement. All well documented on here mate😀

Thanks Jack, I've seen the documentation of people doing it but there's never a mention of it being done in situ with a MGSW hence my question.

The problem I have mate is that I can't recode the car if I disconnect the battery.

Si I'm not sure I know what you mean by recode the car. If your thinking radio codes etc then it's fine as the car doesn't use them. If your thinking eml light or airbag light etc As long as you disconnect the battery first and put everything back together before reconnecting it should be fine.

Hi Si, yep MACK is correct
I removed my steering wheel last week to repaint the trims. I left the battery disconnected for 3 days and only reconnected it again once the steering wheel and air bag had been refitted. Everything was ok and nothing needed reprogramming.
Just remember to wait 30 minutes after disconnecting the battery before trying to remove the airbag. I falso found a plastic chopstick was the perfect tool for removing the airbag :)

Thanks Davros / Mack, I'll press ahead shortly then - much appreciated!

Hey Pastry, how are you enjoying the Gruppe-M?

TBH I’ve only driven the car once but I loved it. Its got a gorgeous angry sound as the revs get up, it’s like having the devil sitting on your shoulder telling you to go faster :D :driving:

I'm on holiday in Oz at the moment and they're on special for AUD940 = £540. Tempted. But the AFE one is similar in price.... Hmmmm...

That’s a great price for a GruppeM, probably what you would get for a second hand on here...... you know it makes sense

Decided to spruce up the wing mirror plastic surround. It's seen better days and thought I'd show her again how it should be :D

I managed to replace the DISA valve flap with the ally repair kit. Once I'd removed it I could tell it wasn't showing any ware but still changed it anyway.

Just a £5 Carplan Black Trim Wax from Halfords. Thought I'd give the cheap stuff a go after reading the reviews before getting the expensive stuff. So far, I'm overly impressed

After a long time being low and pretty unusable it's now back to normal ish height and on some lovely style 108s I got from mjennings23. Had them powdercoated this week in silver / chrome silver lips

Cleaned the roof with the Autoglym Convertible Soft Top Clean & Protect kit.

Had to use the cleaner three times before the dirt stopped coming out. Rinsed and waterproofed.

Did use a Vikan Upholstery Nail Brush on the roof for the first time and it certainly made a difference in getting the roof clean.

Wheels cleaned with Bilt Hamber auto-wheel. Easy to use and not much can be said as the wheels were refurbished a week ago.

Bodywork being cleaned in the morning.

Twas a lovely evening. So I open the garage warmed her through gently, then enjoyed the song of the S54 for 20 miles before tucking her up, ready for tomorrow on the Moors. :driving: :D

Fitted my Bilstein B4s, top mounts, lollipops, new nuts/bolts and dust covers etc, and HEL Stainless lines. Recently also fitted Brembo discs and pads all round and 4 new Avon ZZ5s. Oh my poor wallet ! :( but what a transformation ! Just staggeringly better in every way....Wow ! :D The original 2003/73k Sachs shocks were absolutely shot at...more air in them than oil ! :o Getting the alignment done again next week at DP Tyres in Wigan. All set for North Wales on the 22nd.
