Thanks Mark , it was indeed mate , been a complete & utter pleasure to own & can't see anything but the same for its next owner .
You were the first to see it last December before i shrinkwrapped it & stored in garage till March
Its already left a hole but hoping its replacement will help fill it

205 mile road trip through North Lakes down to Orton, quick stop at the chocolate factory of course, then across to Barnard Castle and onto North Pennines up to Corbridge and back across the A69 to North West Cumbria, then decided to wash and polish the dd and the zed before I tucked her up the garage tonight. May not get out for a few weeks with Holidays coming up :? . Having a well earned glass of red now

Certainly was Mr Wilks, did not plan on travelling that far, basically got in the car and drove and still able to return 35mpg, not many occasions to drive it hard though as roads were wet and a little greasy in places

Pulled the EWS and coded lots of keys to start my car..
Just need to delete them now and crush the transponders!

I changed the drop links. And found I have all the wrong pipes for my hydrolic steering swap :thumbsdown: but I have checked the turbo is all working well. And the oil feed and return system works. I just need a pump with less flow rate or bigger blead off valve. Good times I just need the time and some bits to finish it!!
car has been loosing coolant (half a cup full) over a few hundred miles, Its previously been pressure tested and no fault was identified. Anyway i put it back in to BMW as it is under warranty and they have found that the thermostat housing had failed and was weeping coolant. All replaced under warranty so all good

If i had your skills I would do exactly the same, buy cheap, fix up, n sell for a BIG profit, especially now you also do the VANOS thing.

while the boot lid was off to fish out some stray piece of whatever that was lurking inside it's chassis I took it to the painters to have the inside painted too...
why ??? cus I've lost my mind.... always wished bmw would have painted the inners of the visible backside of panels.

After several weeks of ownership I finally got the time and weather to give it a good wash, clay, polish and wax. Wheels just got a quick once over but plan to have them off for a good clean soon.
From the quick wash i have it last week i thought it had some fairly poor finishes on the sills from a respray but turned out it was just grunge and grime. Clay sorted most of it.
Excuse the poor photos, ran out of time and had to pick my lad up in it.
