Incredible range of professions but intriguing that we don't seem to have any lawyers, doctors or police officers.

Or maybe they simply stay in the background?

I'll cough to being a retired cop - 29 years in West York's Police, until bad knees/arthritis finished me with 12 months left.

I was fortunate in that I got to specialise for most of my career as a Firearms Officer, & Close Protection Officer.

A lot of responsibility admittedly, but at least I didn't have to endure what a lot of the lads & lasses put up with at the 'Sharp End' thankfully.

Spent the last 10 years as a contruction Cost / Contract management consultant which can be as dull as it sounds; so packed it in and started a small car dealership

Spent a fair bit of the last decade working in my same PMO role for a 'Built Asset Consultancy' (EC Harris/Arcadis) on projects in Dubai, St Pancras, and the less glamorous Heathrow T5 - also for the same company doing projects in facilities management and supplier portfolio optimisation.

Just started my 5th year of a 10 year project at a big pharma company in Brentford.

I was at heathrow too various projects, T2b phase I and II but also the T5 toilets for a bit. the sometimes hour long security routine to get airside alone was enough to put me off ever doing it again!

I went to university in Canterbury, Computer Systems Engineering but never pursued anything in that field. Instead I work at the family business, a small travel agency.
