What do you do for a living?

Director at a club that organises motor racing for its members, a dream job honestly.

http://www.classicsportscarclub.co.uk if anyone would like free tickets to one of our meetings, will try to help out. :)
I've marshalled at a couple of CSCC events in the past (Anglesey & Oulton) - was on the pit entry years ago when the Legend spun & flipped multiple times into the infield - although that might have been at the 'other' Legends series. Used to love the Jags sliding around :driving:

Since I went 5-days-a-week in London, I've hardly done any marshalling

Team Manager at Sky Broadcasting in Osterley, West London. We transmit the Sky television programs you watch at home, anything from Premiership Football to F1. Basically I watch TV for a living!

Just out of interest, do you know Robyn Smyth?
I don't recognise the name, no. It's a big place though, several thousand workers. Have seen a few Zeds scattered about the work car parks from time to time (one of them a fellow forum member), wonder if any other Sky employees are on the forum...

I'm a mechanic for a large manufacturing company looking after cars trucks trailers forklifts basically if it ticks it's mine .

I'm a vet in the south west. Deal with large and small animals but have a special interest in small animal surgery.
So i reckon if you can do for a living what essentially is your hobby then youve cracked it in life -i'm guessing that's the case for a lot of vets but probably very few human doctors .

Yes I must say that I often feel very privileged to have a career that I wanted to enter ever since I can remember. Can still be quite stressful at times tho! They do say never work with kids or animals!

What a fantastic job in the best place in the country to live, I'm green with envy...even going shoulder deep up a cow's chuffter would'nt put me off...well a bit maybe.. I doth my cap to thee sire. :hattip:

Welcome aboard too.

It is a fantastic area to work (West Dorset/East Devon).

Luckily not too much long glove work but it's not so bad on a cold day....!

Makes reminder never to buy second hand gloves from Fieldy no matter the cost!

Employment-wise right now I do F-all!

Depending upon circumstances I may choose to be Retired or Unemployed!!

Still a lie-in never killed anyone (did it)? :D

And I get time to be curator to straight 6 petrol-engined manual BMWs!

Prior to that I spent 30+ years in the general insurance industry, lastly as an international property claims adjuster until I got fed up with spending on-call weekends driving to see some water damage near Swansea, an explosion at an oil storage site in Hertfordshire, a fire at a bus depot in London, or flying to the site of a fire in Lodz, Poland or Middelfart, Denmark (I kid you not!), etc.

Weren't final salary pension schemes a great idea?

Personal assistant to Sir Frank Williams :winner:

Yes it is as good as it sounds  no I can't get cheap f1 tickets
I'm a self employed tiler/Kitchen fitter/bathroom fitter but I worked for Goodyear F1 early nineties so travelled the world with the F1 circus. I looked after the Williams GP tyres on the grid with Biddy and Steve (if they're still there). Brilliant job and still miss it.

Ah, I think that must have been long before I joined the club, I do remember hearing of a Legend accident though. Let me know if you fancy coming along again, either as a marshal, volunteer in the pit lane or guest, the club has changed and grown a lot over the years. :)

Retired on medical grounds 14 years ago.

Formally IT consultant for Hampshire County Council. SQL/Plus on the mainframe before it also went into retirement. I loved the job and always looked forward to Mondays. Well, nearly always.
