What do you do for a living?

Incredible range of professions but intriguing that we don't seem to have any lawyers, doctors or police officers.

Or maybe they simply stay in the background?

I'll cough to being a retired cop  - 29 years in West York's Police, until bad knees/arthritis finished me with 12 months left.

I was fortunate in that I got to specialise for most of my career as a Firearms Officer, & Close Protection Officer.
.
A lot of responsibility admittedly, but at least I didn't have to endure what a lot of the lads & lasses put up with at the 'Sharp End' thankfully.

Thank you for all those years of service

IT for a charity.

Basically all things Microsoft that you don't actually see or know about. It would take too long to explain.

It's not a fucking cloud.

Spent the last 10 years as a contruction Cost / Contract management consultant which can be as dull as it sounds; so packed it in and started a small car dealership
Spent a fair bit of the last decade working in my same PMO role for a 'Built Asset Consultancy' (EC Harris/Arcadis) on projects in Dubai, St Pancras, and the less glamorous Heathrow T5 - also for the same company doing projects in facilities management and supplier portfolio optimisation.

Just started my 5th year of a 10 year project at a big pharma company in Brentford.
I was at heathrow too :( various projects, T2b phase I and II but also the T5 toilets for a bit. the sometimes hour long security routine to get airside alone was enough to put me off ever doing it again!

I'm a freelance bass trombonist. I play with orchestras, west end shows, recordings and the odd bit of tv and film music.

Haha, I had to stop buying VAG cars as I was spending too much of my wages at work...
That and 8-Years in (plus 5 years of VW's before that) the whole VAG thing starts to get a little boring.

Finance Director for a claims management company, mostly focusing on the infamous PPI (but before anyone abuses me, we make a point of not cold calling, texting, or emailing anyone!).

Team Manager at Sky Broadcasting in Osterley, West London. We transmit the Sky television programs you watch at home, anything from Premiership Football to F1. Basically I watch TV for a living!

Just out of interest, do you know Robyn Smyth?

I went to university in Canterbury, Computer Systems Engineering but never pursued anything in that field. Instead I work at the family business, a small travel agency. We do outgoing travel mostly but do the occasional incoming group or excursion on request. Anyone need local knowledge in the Paphos area, i'm your man. :)

Many interesting professions here!

Director at a club that organises motor racing for its members, a dream job honestly.

www.classicsportscarclub.co.uk if anyone would like free tickets to one of our meetings, will try to help out. :)

Self employed in property maintenance, painting and decorating, fitted kitchens, bathrooms, tiling, flooring etc etc, always busy and not enough time to play with my beautiful ///M :headbang: :headbang:
