I decided to drive down the high street again today, at a different time of day to previous.

Guess which age group made up nearly the entirety of those out and about, shopping as usual

Yep, you guessed it, the same demographic that we are meant to be shielding

So my daughter is at home trying to teach herself quadratic equations, so that we can protect the vulnerable, while the “non-shielding” 80 year olds are out shopping like normal.

I’ve not been at the weekend but no doubt it’s busy on a Saturday, with people of all ages carrying on as normal, just with a mask on

So it got me thinking, rather than when will this nightmare end, I think it’s now a case of how much longer will the public put up with this.

I think once the vulnerable are vaccinated people will be ignoring all restrictions on mass
100% on this.
I have just returned from the High Street to post 3 letters overseas.
I had to stand in a queue for a half an hour with old people. I'd say 90% were over 70. All wearing masks (outside on the street) whilst we waited for the teenager at the entrance to receive his notification via walkie-talkie to let another 2 people in.

The families of 100,000+ people would be disappointed by the last sentence.
Interestingly, I looked up the stats for 2019.
https://www.ons.gov.uk/peoplepopulationandcommunity/birthsdeathsandmarriages/deaths/datasets/weeklyprovisionalfiguresondeathsregisteredinenglandandwales
Total number of deaths from respiratory disease was 71,674.
Deaths of those over 85 was 208,681
...75-84: 149,651
...65-74: 87,492
Just worth looking at, for a baseline reference.

Define your use of the word better please. Better in the sense of___________.
Better in the sense of them not scaremongering and being totally bias in their reporting of the news.
Yes that would be a wonderful thing, unfortunately that is their modus operandi in just about all they do and report. I think/hope that the MSM is going the way of the dodo with alternate news sources filling the void.

The chances of them dropping their scaremongering and biased views are probably about the same as me winning the lottery, slim to none.

I think good can come out of this whole mess as more people realize that they are being played and will stand up for themselves and resist. Some of the videos I have watched of police abuse on citizens who have committed no crime but simply resisted Covid tyranny are frightening. The word Nazi comes to mind frequently when I view these so called public serpents (not a typo) abusing their power.

How far will people allow themselves to be abused, lied to and controlled before we say “Enough !” ? The power does reside with us, there truly are more of us than there are of them. But, as long as people roll over and submit the more abuses we will suffer. History teaches us that the weak can overcome the strong, there is power in numbers!
Sorry but as an ex cop in many years gone by, when you start using the abuse, tyranny and Nazi I am happy to end this conversation. You continue to live in your world and I in mine.

You can deny the video evidence in your world all you wish but it is out there and there are many of them to view should one care to see what is going on.

If the guy in charge is not following the rules how can they expect anybody else to.

Even though Britains death rates are one of the highest in Europe if I'm correct USA's rates are off the scale, whether that's down to Trumps incompetance at the time or the populas simply ignoring Gov't advice and paying the consequence, I think the majority of us Brits were happy to follow Government guidelines if it meant staying alive. Nothing to do with people being played by Government, abuse, tyranny and any other labelled drivel you care to associate with the powers at be who are trying their best to control a pandemic

Well what I was referring to in that part of my post, that Nanu took offense at, (which you have copied in your post) was abuse by the police on citizens whose only "offense" was not wearing the face diaper. I can provide links if you wish but a simple search of the Net will provide you with many examples of such abuses. Of course don't try YouTube as they will have been scrubbed...because they know what's best for you. Look at BrandNewTube, Brighteon and others if you care to see what these wonderful public servants are doing to protect you.

If you can honestly view these examples of police abuse and not be enraged well, quite frankly I can't finish this sentence in a nice way so I'll let it go at that.

And if you think this abuse of the governments overstepping their bounds will end when everyone has received the "jab", I fear you will be sadly mistaken.

Research the World Economic Forum and Klaus Schwab if you want to see what these gentle people have in mind for the world population as a whole.

This covid crisis was a way of getting their foot in the door and they are not about to stop there.

Oh how I wish I were wrong and was as trusting as many of you seem to be...Well I do wish I was wrong but I do not want to be like those who can not or will not see what is going on right in front of their eyes.

Well, you are wrong.....and it's extremely narcissistic of you to believe that you are one of the chosen few in possession of reality.....Personally I chose to get my information from sources that have some sort of peer review in place, or an organisation who can be called to account, rather than some nutter sitting in the corner with a keyboard and weird opinions.

I hope in 3 years I will be retired swimming in some Spanish Riviera pool with plenty of ladies not wearing masks

I wonder how many pages long this thread will be in 3 years

And how many times it has been around the same political loop

I don't think anyone is going to change each others views but there has been some good insight and knowledge shared. Plus a fair bit of winding up :D

Not that I can say anything as I have probably contributed to half of it. Might just keep my Coupe so I can stay on here and be part of it.
