I think it should be open to all Zeds, a low mileage good condition one will always be in demand.

This is very true. Although define "use it". I use my Z whenever I can/ want to.
I decided to get it as a weekend toy. My commute is along A-roads, which whilst it sounds nice I spend 80%+ of the time stuck behind lorries/ tractors/ numpties driving at 40mph, I have driven the ///M to work a few times, but it has always been a frustrating drive as I am merely getting from A to B and not enjoying it. (the mere fact of not commuting in my car means I remove 9000m per annum).
This means I drive my car to enjoy it and when I do drive I have nothing but a smile on my face. I get just as much fun out of my ///M driving 4k per year in it, always having fun as I would driving 13k per year in it (getting nothing out of the commute).
In my opinion, I'm not "paying for someone else to enjoy it", but "maximising enjoyment and minimising depreciation".
original guvnor said:This is true, and well articulated. It mirrors my situation almost exactly. My commute is either a 150 mile round trip on a motorway or 15-20 miles to a train station usually. Always in heavy traffic, always monotonous. The last type of drive I'd want to do in the M really.
