Given they were in the house, I'm just glad you're all safe. It's a pita but cars can be replaced.

End of the day it's a book value car of £6k (of course so much more to you) so a lot of risk for what it's worth compared to stealing high end saloons. Probably hard to sell on too as it's an enthusiast car. I'd be more inclined to think they wanted to break in the house and took the car having found keys.
On that basis you might find it dumped somewhere

Happening all to often nowadays, it's so sad. I know a guy who had all 3 of his cars 'removed' from his driveway one night last week. Same scenario, targeting the cars while he was asleep in the house.
I'm not sure if I'd rather leave my keys near the front door or risk scumbags rummaging through my house while I sleep looking for the keys.
