STOLEN! YL03 HCA - Update 5 - Home, for now!

I wish the fucker had come upstairs, or at least made some noise...
As I wouldn't have posted, as Id have shot his scrotey scumsucking chavvy face off with my shotgun.

I'm having to sleep downstairs tonight as we couldn't replace the door fully today.

if they turn back up for another go tonight, expect to see a news article of a crazed gothic man performing grotesque sexual acts on the rear end of burglar, with a loaded shotgun.

i'm not joking. I'll fully up for murdering someone right about now.

Man this sux I had my house broken into 30 years ago and I know how you feel, plus the cops seemed more intend on trying find something to bust me for than find who broke in.

It was the reason I got my first Rottweiler, no problems since :D

Gutted to hear this, these Thieving A#holes have no respect for anything.

A good mate at work took down a guy in the street, in Cardiff, who tried to take his wallet. Beat the crap out of him and had to be pulled off by his Mrs and another passer-by, who witnessed the theft too. The whole thing was on CCTV, he wacked him 13 times, in the head.

The Police were delighted, they’d been trying to catch the thieving rot bag for months. He was picking on pensioners. My mate's 62, but he's 6ft 3 and an ex scouser like myself.

So if it's a spare of the moment reaction, then it's fine to keep going until your knuckles bleed. Just don't reload the shot gun for a second go.

Like your style, re-decorating would would have been a pain though.

Hope things get sorted reasonably quickly.

Did you have much fuel in it? as in would they have had to fill it up somewhere? just incase there is any cctv? From my way they have always ended up round noble road when we've had them taken in the past. From your side I dunno if they would come from that kinda area.
If they came to target you does make you wonder why, if you have a dog would put most off I would have thought?

~100 miles in the tank I believe.
I'm not sure they knew of the dog or not.. he's not a massive guy, and he doesn't bark unless there's someone in his house he doesn't know...

just thought about hooking my air compressor-powered nailgun up so that it fires just about chest height over my garden's inner fence.. then running a bit of fishing wire from the trigger and across the patio a couple of times.
that'll give me due notice of any potential intruder.. as well as the neighbors.. and potentially the entire village..

Is your name Kevin Mccallister?

Sorry to hear about that mate. Hope they find it but I'm never too sure if be too happy getting back a possibly trashed car. Scumbags

They got the car, they know about the dog - I would think its unlikely they will come back :headbang:

I feel for you, I (like jonny) used to sleep with my keys next to the bed, then I had a think and realised if someone did break in, I would rather they just got what they wanted and fucked off. It's not worth it to me to risk something going wrong and upsetting my other half or resulting in a severe lifestyle change for me going to the big house.

I now leave my keys where you would see them if you walked in but can't see/hook them otherwise.

I hope your car turns up soon in good nick but it could be worse

Well if someone is willing to come into an occupied home at night either they are completely stupid or they are willing to do whatever they need to do to get away. At that point I have no problems in making sure they are carried out and well within my rights.

As I see it, the moment they walked into your house they put your life in danger.

I agree in theory but in the uk it's very unusual to have a gun, not so unusual for the lower end of society to carry knives, especially when they are on drugs.

So when you say "completely stupid" they are just that and not worth the risk to your family.

Yeah, here in the states anyone breaking into an occupied home at night is concidered to be premeditating murder, be it a gun, knife, club or bare handed.

In that situation it's the home owners right to protect themselves, their family, and their property in any means necessary.

Now I'm not saying unload a gun on them and reload or anything like that but there are too many cases where home invasions have turned bad for people that didn't protect themselves.

here in the UK we have what's known as "reasonable force"..

to quote our government:

TaxDodgingNumnutsWeElectedButRegret said:
You can use reasonable force to protect yourself or others if a crime is taking place inside your home.
This means you can:

protect yourself ‘in the heat of the moment’ - this includes using an object as a weapon
stop an intruder running off - eg tackle them to the ground
There’s no specific definition of ‘reasonable force’ - it depends on the circumstances. If you only did what you honestly thought was necessary at the time, this would provide strong evidence that you acted within the law. Read guidance from the Crown Prosecution Service.

You don’t have to wait to be attacked before defending yourself in your home.

However, you could be prosecuted if, for example, you:

carry on attacking the intruder even if you’re no longer in danger
pre-plan a trap for someone - rather than involve the police

to that end.. If someone was carrying any type of weapon, I'd consider myself to be in fear of my own life, and if after displaying said firearm, they still came forward, then they'd get at least one round in them.
