Speed dependent volume

From memory ....

I think there is a music note button, and after you press that you can change the increments. Turn it one way to decrease, the other to increase.

Press the button with musical note on it until you get to SPEED VOL then press the + or - for the desired setting, ive only got the Business HU so not sure if is different for the better audio systems.

Ah ... can't remember exactly.

Could it be in the setup menu (push the menu button for 8 seconds to get in the hidden menu from setup).

It is so long ago I adjusted mine I can't remember the details.

From another forum (not tried this myself yet and not sure if for e85 with nav)

Adjusting the speed sensitive Audio volume setting
1. Turn radio off and then on.
2. Press an hold the "SEL" button.(I believe for like 10 seconds or so)
3. Radio will display the software version.
4. Use the "<>" button to go thru the settings.
5. Find one that says "GAL"
6. Use the "1,2,3,4,5,6" buttons to change the value (1-6, 1 is lowest, 6 is highest speed volume compensation)... you cannot set it off.
7. Turn radio off and then on.

There are several hidden resets with this vehicle. Windows, adaptive throttle, etc. Most of which have been posted here, which is how I got them . I'll try to post them in a seperate thread.

Another post relating to GAL option in hidden menu...

For "NAV" there is no mention in the manual. I had found the fix in the x3world.com forums. For more information search for GAL (Geschwindigkeits (speed) abhaengige (depending) Lautstaerke (volume)).

Try this:
Set the Audio source to the radio.
Turn the Radio OFF
Turn the Radio ON
Press and hold the SEL button for 10 seconds (you get into the hidden menu).
Use the < and > to change to the GAL screen
Change the value of GAL with the preset number buttons, 1 = little change, 6 = large change.
Turn radio OFF to save new settings.

Try it! (I will when I can get to my car again!)
