Wheel speed dependent whine (video)

Hi, all,

After giving it some thought I’m turning to you for help and knowledge.

I’m dealing with a loud whine noise brought in by the cold weather.
It was there at a lower dB last year, but then the car sat for the winter. Now I drive it and it’s here, loud, and unpleasant.

In my estimation it’s not a wheel bearing whine as it’s different to what I witnessed on an e92 and ‘04 boxster that proved to be faulty bearings.

Event window:
- cold ambient temperature -2 to 14deg C
- speed above 5mph(none below)
- speed below 50mph(still there but barely noticeable)
- wheel speed dependent
- not engine speed dependent
- not gear dependent, not load dependent, not braking dependent.
- not louder with window down.

Looking forward to your ideas on source and ways to diagnose it, as I plan to fix it myself.
