so no doing donuts in the car park
would be hard as they have lots of speed ramps due to stop the parents nipping through the car park to avoid the roundabout/lights to the school!

I have never been in, but it looks rather bleak from the outside (the reason why I have never visited!). Us locals (and possibly older than you I suspect) would rather go somewhere nice! such as the Blue Ball Inn at Sandygate which is right by the M5 services and only slightly more expensive. for something slightly more "up market"...(check out the reviews)but if youre looking for cheap i doubt you can beat what you have got

yes seems pretty basic but only want it to crash to break the journey up a bit. I will watch the speed bumps though just had a B12 kit fitted so will go very slowly.

fortunately we all like something different... if you're happy with cheap and (possibly) cheerful, go for it - there's also the Holiday Inn Express, that's a bit more "mainstream"...

I woke up there after a gig once, bit jaded but it was a perfectly acceptable place to sleep, and the roast food went down well. Wouldn't chose to go on holiday there, but for a car cruise I wouldn't complain! Although yes speed bumps, at least on one of the entrances if not both 😂

Just thinking ahead... do we know what numbers are going. Wondered about volume for ferry and pub. Once things are open i'm just thinking if we need to book well before?

Worth adding the names of those interested in the drive, plus those interested in the Pub lunch and adding to the OP's Original post.

Hi chaps

Yes I am building a tally and going to call ahead to the pub once the 'sign ups' tail off a bit. I'm hazarding between 10-20 atm but will go through the list more accurately soon.

If we get divided up by the ferry we'll have to live with it I guess. If only a couple get left behind they'll have to drop a cog and catch up 😂 I'm not sure the ferry will let us book spaces and we can't be sure of times either. I doubt there's room at the ferry port to park up and make sure we end up on the same crossing.

Likewise there's a big car park at hope cove, but if it's rammed we'll have to find nearby spaces, going to be the same situation anywhere really 👍

If it's anything like today, we'll be lucky to get out of second gear 🙄

I forgot just how bad the local roads can be when the shackles are lifted. Just a suggestion if there's a big contingent - I'm happy to lead a "splinter group" once we get to Paignton and go to Dartmouth via Totnes, and then regroup once we're all across the water

Count me in as long as I can get my lazy arse out of bed in Cornwall and up to Exeter for 0830
You can wake me up on the way past my house, if your on the A38. Goes for any one else heading up from Cornwall. Though I'm not planning on getting to Exeter much before 09:15 tbh.

Convoy from Cornwall? :driving:

Booked my Airbnb for Friday night!
FYI for anyone else coming from further afield, the Travelodge on M5 has rooms available for Fri night from £39. And it literally couldn't be closer to the meeting point.
