Hi guys

Can you tell me if you'll have 1 or 2 people in your car?

I am emailing local pubs (phones not open yet) to book a spot for lunch / drinks and trying to gauge numbers.

We have 33 cars apparently coming now wow! Best get some wicked film footage if you're a camera bod? (let me know as I'm going to make a video)

PS we are going to re-route via Totnes to Dartmouth, to avoid using the ferry. As with this many of us it'll get messy.

Thanks!

Tom

Hi Tom

Kind Regards.
Rob.

Hi Tom, Would love to come along, not bothered about the route and we'll eat and drink anywhere. Will be nice to see a few more Z's.
Nick.

Evening folks!

Please PM me your number to be added to the WhatsApp group (a clever suggestion from a forum member 😄)

Okay so have put word out to the local pubs and cafe's etc. But honestly with an estimated 30-40 cars, with up to 40-60 people I think we'll be hard pressed to find a venue to take the entire cruise. If we get enough capacity between two venues that might still work, but as a realistic backup plan we may have to bring picnics and our own drink / caffeine supplies and set up a Z4 drivers pitch on the beach.

Parking wise Hope Cove is probably still the best due to the amount of residential vein roads that can be used as overflow if the car park is rammed. Plus it's one of the biggest car parks in the local area. Exeter services is huge so we should be fine at the starting point.

If it's a success then perhaps next year it'll be a hired field with camping and the basics, should be able to sort something out if so.

I will provide a Google Maps link soon with all the way points so everyone can sync their phone nav in case we get split up at any point.

Any questions or suggestions please leave in the comments

Tom :)

Cheers for those sending their numbers for the trip group. Not essential of course, just meet at the time and place otherwise :)

Hi peeps, so after much deliberation and flying around Devon on gmaps, here is the route map with it's waypoints.

Due to the incredibly tight 2-way streets exiting both Dartmouth and Salcombe, these have turned into looped-destinations. As the views were promised to those from far and wide, we shall see them!

IMPORTANT note. When you open the link in Google Maps, it will only offer you a Preview of the route. To overcome this on the day, do the following:

1. First drive to Exeter Moto services BEFORE opening the cruise map

2. Once we're at the start point, open the map link

3. Tap the first direction 'Exeter' (you may have to tap it twice) to edit the starting point

4. Clear the box and choose 'Your location', tap 'Finish'

5. You're ready, hit Start!

I tried to create this map route in Waze on my PC, but it didn't support several waypoints on that version and I had errors creating an account so I gave up.

Here is the link. Let me know if you have any issues: https://www.google.com/maps/dir/50.7156428,-3.4648277/50.6204647,-3.5473833/50.6019757,-3.4479261/50.4641038,-3.514199/50.43273,-3.5628886/50.4298788,-3.6506883/50.3490887,-3.5778555/50.2723398,-3.7114009/50.2380237,-3.7674249/50.2458933,-3.8586902/@50.4623466,-3.7552496,11z/data=!4m17!4m16!1m0!1m0!1m0!1m0!1m5!3m4!1m2!1d-3.5642153!2d50.4324244!3s0x486d1a9c32054469:0xe8e865dcce8f27b5!1m0!1m0!1m0!1m0!1m0!3e0!5m1!1e4

Hi folks

Heard back from the local pubs/cafes. We can't make a booking for the potential group size, so we'll have to see how many arrive on the day and call ahead to see if they can take us.

For that reason it looks like a beach hangout / picnic is in order, make sure you do a morning sundance 😂 Bring lunch, bevs and something to sit on with you.

Again if you want to join the optional whatsapp group, send me your number 👍

Planning to bring a pasty in the car so no worries from me on a pub. :)

Hi folks!

The forecast is playing at disobedience but for the South coast it is still good!

If you have any questions please ask, and if you want to be added to the whatsapp group - drop me a dm.

So 8.30am at the top of Exeter Moto car park, grab a strong coffee or whatever, chinwags and set off at 9.30am.

Hopefully we'll keep in tandem, don't be shy of the odd safe over take! So long as the front running car knows exactly where they're going, with all waypoints on google maps so we're bunched together!

Can't wait to meet new friends and hear streets filled with straight 6's (and 4 pots!) 😂

Tom
