Ming, if you like we can take the M5 > to dual carriageway from Exeter, turn off at Mamhead and down to starcross. Then there's some high speed section before getting into the coastal route.
 
Yeah, good shout with the route alternatives. If you set off at 5am the roads are definitely clearer but that's a bit antisocial for most - normal weekday start for me 🙄

It's the bit from Torcross to Kingsbridge that drags, but if there's a few Zeds in tandem it'll be a laugh, and a bit of a distraction from all the T5's and Honda Jazz drivers that seem to invade

I’d rather avoid motorways/dual carriageways if possible, not much enjoyment to be had there :|

Rob - you've maybe not give it the berries up Telegraph Hill and round the bend at the top!
I bottle it at about 80 on the bike and the Zed can carry more corner speed :o
 
Well it's I tiny bit of dual carriage then miles of coast, I think it's the best compromise. We aren't missing any coast by doing so, just skipping a basic A-road. Plus belting up telegraph hill with no back box rocks 🤣

Ming I do the Slapton Kingsbridge stretch many times in summer, haven't had a problem. Guess we'll see on the day. Like you say traffic in a convoy is fun anyway 😄
 
Hahaha. It's not the going up the hill that's the problem, it's keeping it gassed around the bend at the top 😳😳
 
Will have to check the calendar see if I'm around for this, not dive that route before. Love hope cove though so great choice to end :thumbsup:

I'll probably hang around at the back driving like a little old lady though :rofl:
