So ..... For some time now skyer has been asking me to help get some parts from overseas. I hadn't been too well last year and couldn't make it happen , however in a bid to give back to the z4 community I was able to facilitate this actually happening, as such ... The first batch of Carbon fibre hoods and roofs landed at my shop this morning. These are already owned by forum members . We have carbon vented and non vented hoods , and the roof sections for the coupe. The parts need alittle refining to the clear ( nothing alittle two stage can't cure ) but overall I think for the money these are pretty impressive pieces. The packaging was incredible and was whopping130kg.

If anyone needs any large parts from skyer you guys now have someone that is able to assist in getting them on our side of the pond and yes that means the reproduction aero side skirts too . :-)

Hey beedub, what is the quality of the roof like versus oem carbon roofs from CSL and other M3/M4s? I returned two Geoff Steel ones recently, in the process of sorting refunds. Also what would the total cost be for carbon roof? Thanks

i mean im SUPER critical, its what i do for a living and the panels are for the money these are pretty incredible , remember lets use VARIS for example a high end carbon supplier, theirs bonnets are 3.5k..... these are less than half that at around 1400 quid depending on current exchange rate, the underside of the panels mimics stock and is the only place is can fault them really with some rough trims and glue marks but honestly very impressive pieces overall....

The roof panel is near perfect with the same underside imperfections. The finish on all items needs polishing work as i can see clear buffer trails in the clear ( visible in the pics ) , and id LEAST be throwing a layer of high quality ceramic, in a ideal world PPF and tuck edges when the panels are off which will give long lasting UV protection in both cases, the PPF with the added rock chip protection.

What's the weight saving per part?

The bonnets probably not massive as the stock item is already aluminium and a very nice piece. but they all incredibly light. The vented bonnets would be excellent on track or Force induction cars , the fluted ////M carbon bonnet is a excellent piece without the complexity of the vents its cleaner ( these are hand laid pieces ) i love the fact that they retain all the factory mounting points....

i look forward to getting a set of aeros....

id REALLY like to see a roadster carbon trunk with a CSL style in built spoiler, the stock trunk lid on the roadie is absolutely insanely heavy.

:D :D :D :D :D :D i reckon if i could get a batch together we could get them in for reasonable money, whats killing us is the shipping right now so its got to be big orders... the box above weighted 130kg and costs 1400 quid to get to my work shop....

comparing these too OEM wouldn't be fair, the price point is not even in the same league.... the oem pieces are a different level of clean including the underside where these loose out slightly, its not bad by any means but just not oem clean. Compared to geoff steel i believe this are a notch up in quality. How the clear lasts etc cant be noted as yet as this is my first batch but i DO believe in skyer and his reputation .

Skyer is making a carbon non-m diffuser at the moment which looks excellent. Burkhart engineering in Germany do a copy of the original OE part (now like hens teeth) and that’s around £800 pre import and taxes. Would be interested if Skyer could provide an alternative. Looks good kit. Money out these cars

Fair enough @beedub and thanks for the response. So what is the total cost of the carbon roof with delivery? I am assuming ppf service is additional and optional? Lastly whats the lead time for delivery? I am based in Essex.

thanks

you'd have to contact skyer motorsport for pricing and shipping costs we'd need to set up a GB to get the shipping down .... minimum 4 pieces ideally the more the better.
