What a great pic , the 3 different colours couldn't have been chosen any better , love it :) although the whole thread is rekindling Porsche twitches & urges I haven't had for many years

Thanks Andy! Fantastic colours! Well there are inherent problems as we all know but a good mid milage 997.1 are bargains atm and as long as all the checks are done and possibly spending the money on piece of mind the car will be set for many miles and smiles. They are certainly only heading in one direction and thats up. Tim is still looking to change it unfortunately and even trading it into a garage has seen a significant increase for a trade in offer year on year its crazy.

It was a hell of a day this was the road up

and this was down

I was lucky enough to get the drive too which Tim certainly wasn't impressed with :D

Rob I managed to edit all the images in the end but haven't posted them yet and it is on my list of things to do.

Holy hell, stunning shots - motoring bucket list right here

I'm no Tom Scott, but thought I'd give it a go after washing and wax.

Getting better, but next time close the door

(great colour by the way).

Has such gorgeous lines on the latest Boxster & Cayman that it would be hard to take a bad pic , the Agate grey is also a winner for me
Great pic even with door open

A friend has exactly this colour / wheel combination in a Cayman S. It really is a good looking car. Sadly he's considering a four cylinder Cayman as an 'upgrade'.

The looks the business Lux. Get it that clean with a nice scenic back drop and you'd have a cracking photo there.

Who murdered that car with those dice ...
It's UK Law and an MOT failure to not have the double dice fitment in all cars registered between 1980 and 1989.

Had a good day out in the Targa with the local Porsche group at a local Fete ..

Awesome. I have also dreamed of owning a Porsche. Not sure if I will ever see the dream realized. I can't see me getting a "standard" 911, I would want something special, big problem though, pretty much anything I have lusted after has moved farrrr away from my likely future budget...GT3s are astronomical, and GT2s biblically expensive. Shame really.

GT3s and GT2s are expensive new... and have always been desirable! A GT3 RS starts at over £131k add some bits a pieces and you won't get much change out of £150k then GT2s are again crazy money and are rare because they are expensive. Only 194 997 GT2s and 131 GT2 RS were sold in the US.

The Z4M fits the special bill but its because they were so quirky when new but at the time there were arguably better cars on the road for similar money so not many sold. With them being so cheap 5 years ago they were bargains and as we know with a few mods are probably one of the best drivers cars you can own. Which is why now they are becoming very popular and prices rising.

Thats all good in hindsight, but the Z4M was £40k starting... £50k fully optioned. The GT cars are the most expensive 911s you can buy... and not necessarily the best. If you test drive a GT variant they are incredible and probably the best drivers car you can own but they aren't the everyday supercar more a pain on the road for anything but a weekend hoon. The 911 is probably 90% a GT3 on the road.

The standard 911s (if you can call a 911 standard) feel very special to drive. A standard 911 comes in at £76k to start most optioned well and 997s currently not the most desirable but a good early car starts at £20k which is about as bargain super car money you will find. Obviously parts are more expensive but with most Porsche specialists very common and supported by Porsche, ownership can be relatively cheap. Infact 911 servicing is similar to the M except major services are cheaper.

Because there are so many 911s most people think ah its just a Porsche but even the "standard" carreras are seen by many purists as the best all rounders in the range. For me the CS or the C4S are the best variants and are electric to drive. There is nothing on the road that quite compares.

Im probably one of the biggest advocates of the Z4MC but the 911 is in a completely different league in all areas. If you enjoy the Z4M the 911 on full hoon mode will blow you away.

Its worth trying one. They do take a little getting used to but when you get them its easy to see why they have such a huge following.

As others have said, some really beautiful examples of Porsches in this thread. To all those who labeled the pics with the model (including those who had a description in their signature) - Thank You  . As far as the rest go :idunno: . Never mind, you don't need to know a girl's name to know she's a stunner
